if you are going to have that awkwardness about the first kiss, you can't go wrong with the good night kiss at the end of the date - if she goes for it, it may lead to more or at the very least keep you guys excited until you see eachother again - if it doesn't go well or she doesn't kiss you back, you have the exit waiting for you since the date is over anyways - if she's dating you, why wouldn't she want to kiss you? go for it

You'll know if she wants a kiss... =) She'll look at you straight in the eye and kind giggle. lol.
The best time is usually towards the end of the date. BE CAREFUL. some girls don't do kisses on the first date.....
I say, when you drop her off at her door, give her a little peck on the cheek as a good night kiss.
After the kiss,.. I just smile and say "thanks, I hope we can hang out again sometime"
you know.. just tell her how much fun you had with her. stuff like that... ;)
But don't be so worried about giving a girl a kiss. Just relax, have fun, and be yourself.... =D

Generally at the end of the date when you walk her to the door.
But, also the mood should strike you and you'll know when its the perfect time and perfect place. No need for words after the kiss, just say Good night and I'll call you tomorrow or later or something.

If she is your girl that should not be a question you should know already but if this is a first date you speak of it is hard to say first of all you have to make sure she is feeling you.
As for myself on my first date with my husand we were sitting at the bar waiting for our table and conversation was great and we talked looking each other in the eyes. So in mid conversation I asked him if he wanted to kiss me and he did and after the kiss he said that was nice we laughed and just continued with the conversation.

i guess i'm more of a classic person here.lol but i think you'll know when the time is right to kiss her. it's best to be close to her already..maybe holding her hand, or giving her a hug..if she's not pulling away from you, then take it as an okay sign to kiss her..also, it depends on how long you've been dating.
and uhm after the kiss..words really arent needed, unless i don't think so..talking could ruin the moment

Look into her eyes. If she looks back and there seems to be this magnetic force pulling you together, go for it. If her eyes start darting around looking for the exit, forget about kissing.
You might also try a small little kiss on the cheek. If she moves closer and/or purrs, that's GOOD. If she jumps, slaps your face, or engages in projectile vomiting, that's BAD.
After the kiss, just look at her and smile. Sometimes saying nothing says it all.

When she looks at you with smiling eyes and lean towards you. Its best when you start with a light show of affection, like holding her hand or touching her cheeks.
No words are needed after the kiss, just bask in the comfortable silence and feel the tinge of greater understanding seep inside of you.

It has to come naturally or it is going to come off as planned and be awkward. Believe me...you will know when it is the right time.
