How do I verify last account activity on a credit card. I had lost all records for the past couple years. I shopped around for credit reports that would have this info. But none of them have this info even thou many articles I read said that is the place to find it. Are there any other ways to get this info?

The account has been sold to a collection agency. I know I haven't use the card for years. I lost track of this account when I moved and now they tracked me down. If I was to request from the collection agency, how do I know they telling the truth? When I contacted the original credit card company, they told me the account is not theirs anymore and I would have to contact the collection agency. So, what u guys are saying is there is no other way to find this info without going thru the creditor or collection agency?

I think you are getting confused.

Credit reports should show the "delinquency date", which is the date that you became delinquent on an account (assuming this is a negative report).

The last activity report on your credit history is when the credit bureau last received any type of reporting. This does NOT mean the same thing as the "date of last activity" in relation to your Statute of Limitation rights.

The "date of last activity" is the last time you placed a charge or payment to your account. Totally different thing then what the credit bureau is reporting.

To get the "date of last activity" you need to contact the creditor and get an accounting of your records. At a minimum you want to see the last bill.

When did you stop paying on the card? The date of last activity (DOLA) should be about 60 days after that (which would make the account 30 days past due).

Look at the monthly breakdown for the account. Is there a 30 day late showing?

You could request verification from the collection agency. They should provide a letter indicating the DOLA.

Go to the issuing credit card website...register and look at it electronically.
