I don't think the dad cares. i couldn't listen to the video for lack of speakers, but I didn't really need to listen to know how the mother was acting.
I think her attitude is what is wrong with christianity today....or religions in general really. So quick to use any power you have over another person to force them to try to believe what you want them to.
While obviously not all parents are like her, there are quite a number that would act in some sort of similiar fashion. Whether yelling and screaming or simply disowning.
I'm quite sure that a few atheist parents would act like this too, there are far fewer I think.

I think it's a little sad that everyone's private life has become everyone else's entertainment.
The kid's got a great family, though. And a really nice looking house. If "you're getting nothing for Christmas" is a threat, sign me up for that family.
I bet his mom bought him a PS3 last year.
And his best friend obviously has a cellphone with a camera.
Dad's probably drunk, and it isn't even noon. Probably makes twice what I make, and has a much simpler job.
I'd trade his present for my past any day of the week.

I saw that before... funny!
It's more like an example of how people are stupid, really. Her kid says he doesn't believe in God, so instead of intelligently discussing the problem, she screams and yells? Obviously, she is unable to intelligently discuss the matter.....
My guess is the kid was just messing with his mother. But, you know what's weird.... she says, now that the kid has stated that there is no God that "NOW we're going to church every sunday...." Well... if you really believed, then why weren't you going before??????
And she says that he's not getting presents because Christmas is about Jesus???? Well, gift giving at Christmas has nothing to do with Jesus. It's a northern European addition to the holiday based on the St. Nicholas superstition and the various "Jule Gnome" superstitions of the pagan Scandinavians and Anglo-Saxons. I mean, there's nothing "wrong" with giving presents on Christmas, but we don't give presents on Christmas because Jesus was born.

My opinion is that youtube is not a reliable source for anything -- that may be a little harsh, but in most cases very true.
Just this atheist's opinion.

It's difficult for many people to understand the pain of that household -- the pain and anger each of them carries -- from the photographer to the mother, to the son.
Many people can't understand the anger each of them has, because many people carry the same types of anger. We internalize it, or project it, or manifest it in different ways, but many of us carry similar anger.

WOW! We had an incident here were a young man killed his mother while she was forcing him to read passages of the bible to convince him that he was not gay.
Scary stuff.
