Just either excited or nervous or whatever but I have three quality phone interviews with a company and now will be going there (August by the way not the time for setting up in-person interviews). Phone interviews went well and salary was discussed. Just trying to gauge things now. One friend says at this point the in-person is more formality to check me out, etc., and make sure I'm not a complete loser or whatever. Just wondering your thoughts?

Yes, good news is that you have made your way past the first step in the phone interview. In my past experience, after checking your resume out, phone interviews occur, & then the formal interviews. Try & relax, be yourself. Dress in a nice suit. Not much jewelry, tone done the make-up, in essence put your most professional foot forward. Don't chew gum, take a daytimer, or leatherbound notepad to take notes in. Answer questions directly with good eye contact. If you haven't provided a list of references bring one with you to give them. Have all of your past work history or college info with you, as they most likely will have you fill out formal paperwork there. Also, make sure you research the company the more you know the better you look. They want someone who really seems excited about working for them, not just any job will do attitude. If salary was discussed prior, I would still still wait for the person interviewing to bring this up. Have at least 3 questions ready that pertain to the job you are interviewing for. Also, be ready to show how your past experience will help you in this position. Companies usually bring anywhere from 3-5 qualified applicants in sometimes more so, think of what can differentiate you from the crowd. Grades, past performance, attitude etc. I would suspect that you will have this interview & 1 more before an offer is made. It all depends on how large the corporation is & how competitive the environment is for the job. No matter what don't leave the interview without asking for the job! Good luck!!

If you've passed 3 phone interviews and now they're having you go in for an in-person, then yes, they're just wanting to make sure you're all you seem to be on the phone. I can tell you from personal experience that there are people out there who do great on the phone, but when you meet them face-to-face you begin to wonder if they're the same person. Right now they just want to ensure that you'll be a good fit for the company, and may want to confirm some of your qualifications. This is your chance to let your them see your awesome personality and show them what a great co-worker you'll be. So dress to impress, greet everyone with a smile and a firm handshake, and be sure to make good eye contact throughout the interview.

Good luck!

Most phone interviews are there to weed out the obviously poor fits so that the in-persons are just with quality candidates. Congrats! That means you're a quality candidate. One big tip from making the transition from phone interview to in-person interview. Remember the types of questions they asked, that will give you a hint as to what sort of person they're looking for. Then phrase your answers to support the fact that you're that type of person.

If they weren't about to offer you the job in person, they wouldn't be taking this next step. Good luck!

Oh - why did you write that August was not the time for in-person interviews? Are you worried about the heat melting you before you get there? Consider staying in a nice, cool hotel near the interview site so you can be fresh and crisp upon arrival.

Three phone interviews, salary discussed. Sound like you got the job.

The face to face may just be a formality. Be as convincing and amazing in person as you were on the phone and you will have the job for sure.

Good luck.

Well if they still want to meet with you after the phone interviews then that is most likely a good sign. They may even make you an offer at that time. I wouldnt worry too much...sounds like youve done a great job so far!
