Chicken noddle soup is great! it has actually been proven by scientists. The herbs in the broth help the throat, and will sooth the stomach. It can also help make this flu go away faster. I assume that his throat hurts, so even just the broth can be satisfying. Anything soft. And make sure to make him drink water!

Clear liquids like broth, jello, ginger ale that has lost it's fizz. The go to the BRAT diet. Bread, Rice, Applesauce, Toast until he can transition back to normal foods. Plenty of liquids like Gatorade or Pedialite will help him maintain proper electrolytes. Good Luck hope he feels better!!!

I would give him small amounts of chicken noodle soup, or just broth. Try plain toast, or some saltine crackers. Don't give him anything very high in fat or calories. Plain foods work great. If hes thirsty try some gatorade or water.

If he only threw up once it's probably no big deal. He should be able to eat anything he feels up to trying. Dehydration is only a concern for people who have a lot of vomiting and diarrhea.

Either your brother has gastroenteritis or he had it. Assuming he still has it, stick to clear liquids like water, broth, clear soups like tomato, jello. If he can tolerate this for 3 days, he can advance to soft foods. I tend to choose a more conservative approach. When diarrhea and/or vomiting has resolved for 24 hours, more solid foods can be introduced.

For my kids, when they have a stomch bug/flu I put them on the BRAT diet for 48 hours.
BRAT: Is a acronym for bananas, rice, apples and toast.
After 48 hours I put them on what they are able to handle.
FLUIDS are very important with the stomach flu so you don't get dehydrated.

Today he should begin drinking gingerale or 7-UP. Does he also have diarrhea? If able to tolerate the gingerale then he can begin with soda crackers. If those stay down he can begin eating soft foods and then advance to more solid foods slowly.
