I've got this parrot Jerry here, and every somebody comes over he says rascist remarks to them, and all my guests get really offended. You should have heard what it said when I asked "Polly want a cracker?". I've tried talking to him but he just acts immature and repeats everything I say. What should I do?

Well the first thing to establish is where he learned the racist remarks. You admit that he repeats everything you say, so i would try to find out who taught him these phrases and keep that person away from the parrot.

As far as the fact that he "just acts immature ," well it seems you might be expecting way too much from your parrot. Even if he is a really intelligent parrot, he only has the IQ of a 3 or 4 year old child. To expect him to act any more mature is unrealistic. Instead of thinking of it as immature, try viewing it as a miracle that he has such a *High* IQ !
You say you have "Tried talking to him." Does that mean that you do not do that anymore? Parrots are very sensitive birds, and you should be spending at least 1 to 2 hours each day interacting with him. If you do not, then he may get upset, resulting in still more problems .

The fact that he repeats everything you say should make it really easy to teach him new things, and hopefully he will forget some of the bad ones. Try sitting for a solid hour and repeating the same phrase over and over. Then have someone else come in and immediately say the same phrase to the bird!! If you have several friends who could come in and say that phrase before the bird can speak, he might think of this as his new greeting !!

Give it a try.
Good Luck !

Every time he says something inappropriate, (warn your guests to do the same or the bird will never learn) go silent, and turn your back. Don't look at him or talk to him. After a minute or so, go back to talking to the guests but ignore the bird. Once Jerry talks again (and says something appropriate), turn around and give him attention. Ignore the bad behavior, reward the good. He'll learn in just one or two days.

Now, I hope you're not just one of those people making up a story because you think it's funny, because it just wastes my time. If your bird really does have this problem, this method should work to fix it.

Good luck!

ha ha ha .... that's hilarious!!

But just in case you're being serious: change its name (every goddamn parrot in television history is called Polly). Then try keeping it isolated for a while.

If that doesn't work, let it sleep...

Ok so you have a squirrle stalking you and a parrot that has some kind of vendetta clearly against you or is it that he scares all your guests of and repeats what you say because he secretly fancies you? i wonder! i know beat him at his own game, say things like "i am one ****** of a parrot" and oops i think i pis**d myself" you will either emabarass the parrot infront of guests or he will stop!

if nothing works just stay clear of all animals i dont think they like you!!
