I get migraines everyday, I'm only 21 years old, and its ruining my life. I have been taking off from work way too much lately and All I Do is stay in bed with the lights off. I tried taking tylenol, advil, motrin, Almost every OTC medication and NOTHING helps me. I don't know if I should even go to the doctor and waste money just for him to tell me to take something like tylenol ect. Even at 1500mg Of Tylenol, it still dosn't help at all. My boss at work is getting sick of me taking off, but I can't work with this pain. On A scale From one through 10 my pain is like A 9. I have had broken bones before and THIS IS MORE PAIN THAN THAT!!!
What would A doctor do? Would An X-ray show whats wrong? If not, what do they do? I just want to see if going to the doctor would even be worth going to.

I know what you're going through. I've had migraines all of my life and many,many major surgical procedures, 2 children, (one by c-section), and a kidney stone. All of those pains combined aren't as painful as a migraine. For my migraine treatments the doctor had me take 2 Topamax in the morning & 2 at night and gave me 100 mg of Imitrex and Vicodin. The Topamax helps prevent the headaches, but can cause kidney stones, that's why he took me off of it. But honestly I'd much rather have the kidney stone (and my stone was too large to pass & had to have surgery to remove it). Make an appointment with a neurologist and start getting treatment. I also had Botox injections which really helped but it was very expensive as it the Imitrex. If you have migraines nothing would show up on an MRI, X-ray, or CT scan. But those tests are to rule out other medical conditions.Good luck. 2D

Definately go to the doctor. He should do at the very least a CT scan to rule out anything in your brain.
There are many meds that are preventatives you can take - but they are all prescription.
Go....I had daily migraines during pregnancy - throwing up at least once a day - while taking care of my other children...so I know how you feel.

Doctors treat migraines by giving you meds that take the pressure off the vanes in your head that cause migraines. One of the meds they give you is Imitrex. It works really good. I my self have migraines and they gave me Imitrex to help with mine. Another thing they will tell you is to slow your stress, or try to talk walks to ease your train of though.

There is no medicine for H/A OR MIGRAINE. Not only these but for almost all painful diseases. Hence they become chronic.
Acidity, WORRY, excessive wind, cold , heat, sour food and sinusitis, constipation, intestinal inflammation;
Blockage in the flow of Vital Energy are their causes. None of them can be treated with medicine. Our 100% success in treating migraine &H/A confirms it.
Acupuncture is the best treatment. I can treat it with naturopathy and YOG, but how can you manage pl see.
Avoid late sleeping if possible;spicy, sour, stale bakery foods and alcohole.
Sweet foods, COCOANUT WATER,sweet fruits, milk, rice, SPROUTS, SALADS and good sleep will help you.
But you try one herbal remedy- two drops of drumstick leaves' juice in opposite nostril if one side pains and both nostrils if full H/A will give you rescue. Betel leaf helps but it isvery strong.
If it is acute pl search a painful point 3-6 mm behind your thumb nail and press it, H/A will disappear within 30 seconds.

Hey, my sister was experiencing the same thing, and my dad told her to start taking B-12 vitamin...I cant tell ya how much, cuz I'm not sure. But her migranes are gone for good now. So maybe you just need to eat better and take a multivitamin?

THEY HAVE TO DRILL A HOLE IN YOUR HEAD AND LET THE DEMONS OUT. Just kidding.
They first have to find out whats causing them. Could be light, sinuses, all kinds of things. They gave me stuff I had to shoot up my nose. I tasted aw-full but it worked. I can't Remember the name. Just go to your doctor and find whats causing it, That's the only way to get rid of it.
