Will agree...but even before I hit "submit" I'm sure someone will rise up out of the primordial goo and have something smart to say.

Let's pray. and you're right...Jamaica is a country in terrible need.

The hurricane was bad, yes, but Jamaica has made its own bed to a large extent. Granted, they've got no natural resources except bauxite and beaches, but the street gangs are run by the political parties, for goodness sake. The corruption is out of control in an economy that can't handle it.

My friend's whole family is from Jamaica. Her grandmother just left a week ago to go there. As soon as I get back to school, I'm going to have a donation box. I'm going to make as much money as I can.

You should check out some of the back streets in my home town. Everyone needs our concern, no matter where they are located, so let's give positive thoughts to everyone.

It is very sweet of you to consider the well-being of others, let's see if we can't turn that into a pandemic.

No, I think we need to go further than wishful thinking. I mean happy thoughts are all well and good, but they are completely meaningless unless you back it up with action. So, no, I can't agree that they need our prayers. They need people to do something constructive.

Who said to donate to the government? Ever heard of the Red Cross?

In the same way as a fish needs a bicycle.

What they need is real aid and real support.
