I've been playing the electric guitar for about a year now (my brother taught me) but I've always had trouble with my strumming.. I should use more of my wrist instead of moving my whole forearm up and down. Can someone tell me how to use more of my wrist? Thanks

Yeah. Using your whole forearm is fine for playing loud, but to get more expression, or to play more quietly, u need to play from ur wrist.Try resting ur forearm, just below ur elbow, on the top corner of the guitar (between the side and front of the soundbox.) I do this alot, and it helps to keep my forearm still. My playing strokes then come from my wrist. It takes a bit of getting used to at first but it will come with practice. Hope this helps.

I'm learning about that, too.
My guitar teacher told me to move my hand with just using my wrist, in a up and down strum and it works.

Use the same motion you would use, when you use a little whisk broom to sweep! Just practice until it becomes smooth!
