Oh dear, that sounds very annoying.Firstly you need to try and prevent other cats coming in through your cat flap, this however is ogingto set you back about £40 - 70 in the form of an electromagnetic cat flap. It sounds like you're already treating your cats in the correct way for fleas but once you've rid yourself of the visitors you'll need to be doubly sure and de-flea your cats and home. Fleas can survive in furnishings for up to 6 months without a host. The best treatments for this is made by Johnsons. They make a home and furnishings spray and a flea fogger - both absolutely brilliant. They contain an insect growth regulator which sterilises any fleas it does not kill so eventually they will all die out.
Frontline is probably the best thing for de-fleaing cats and contrary to popular belief can be bought very cheaply from the internet, just go onto google.co.uk and type "frontline online" and you'll get about 5 or 6 sites that sell it with free p&p. Cats ought to be de-fleaed once a month.
As for your partner;it's been found that certain people are more susceptable to insect bites than other people. You say you never get bitten, i should imagine that's also true for mosquitos right? The best thing to prevent your partner from being bitten is to get them to eat more garlic, it's that simple. Insects really don't like the taste or smell of it and i'm not suggesting lashings of the stuff, just a little here and there for flavouring!
Hope that helps :)

maybe you could get an electronic cat flap you know the kind that your cat has a collar on which sends the signal to the flap to open then only your cat can get in . if you have fleas in the house the flea smoke bombs are the best but you need to be out the house for at least three hours after you set it of and it doesnt leave any smell and they work for fox fleas as well which was what my cat had and we tried everything and nothing totally worked as i kept being bitten and my husband didnt it turned out i am allergic to fox fleas.also frontline spot on kills any fleas on your cat and stops new ones from hatching hope this helps good luck

You must de-flea the cat, it's beddings, your carpets, and the house in general. There's all kinds of flea meds for cats, just get one and read the instructions. For the beddings, wash them in super-hot water then dry them in the dryer. There's a powder that you use on the carpets, sprinkle it, let it sit, then vacuum it up -- again, read directions. Get a spray-on treatment for your furniture, curtains, anything else that's cloth in the house. If you treat it properly you will not have fleas anymore.
When fleas are so bad that they are spreading off your pet and onto other people in the house, that cat is MISERABLE and it's hard to get rid of them but very necessary.
As to why you don't get bitten and your partner does, actually, you probably just don't have a reaction and so you don't KNOW you're being bitten. Some people are essentially "immune" to the bites, other people are highly aggravated by them and they itch a lot. Depends on your sensitivities.

Knowing that your cat has fleas, means that your home is covered in fleas (sorry to say). Vacuum your home from top to bottom. Not only the floor, but the couch, chairs, near the floor boards, etc. Wash your bed sheets, blankets, pillows, cat bedding, etc. Next thing is to wash your cat with a flea shampoo. Not just one time but anytime the cat goes out side to play. Maybe get the cat a flea collar, until the fleas are gone. Also see if your area in known to have fleas. If the flea infection is really bad, seek advice from your vet.
I hope this helps you out!

Personally I don't have outdoor cats anymore... I lost too many to cars and other hazards when I was a kid / teen. Cats can live very happy, healthy _long_ lives indoors.
But since your cat is used to going outside, you'd probably have a hard time changing him over to an indoor cat.
You could try to get one of those cat flaps which respond to a signal from your cat's collar. Of course, you'd have to get the collar too, and get your cat to wear it. This would stop other cats from getting in and bringing their fleas.
I assume that you're treating your cat monthly with something like Advantage or Frontline to stop him / her from getting fleas.

Take your cat(s) to the vet and have them treated for fleas. Then go to the store and get some bug bombs and bomb your house to get rid of the fleas. (do this while your cat(s) are at the vet). Follow up with a flea treatment once a month.
I use atvantage on both of my cats and dog.
This will get rid of the fleas....no fleas=no bites.
Fleas are also harmful to your cat so you need to get it treated right away. if eaten the flea larvae can turn into worms, which is not good for kitty.

If other people's cats are coming into your home, that is completely unsafe and disgusting! How do you know a rabid raccoon or skunk isn't going to come in??? Or a rabid or sick cat? Seriously - bad idea. They have magnetic cat doors that only open when a cat with a special collar comes through. You put the collar on your cat, and then no other animals can come in.

Maybe you should worry about the fact that your cat has fleas, and not so much your partner. If you take care of the cat, the problem should be solved.

An obvious answer is get your cat de-fleed - with stuff from the vet. Ask them for a spray for the HOUSE. Strip bed completely and wash covers in hottest wash allowed. Spray bed, corners - just spray everywhere. Fleas are very resilient. We had a flea loose in our bed, hubby and me. By the time it was caught I had more than 20 bites. He had none.
