I have 2 females and one male. They never ever wanted to be picked up or even touched. Is that normal for a duck or is it because of something that happened? They are about 14 months old. We let them run all over the yard but I still can't make friends with my ducks especially my drake.

We owned them since birth (or hatch?) and they were always very nervous. Also I live on a farm and a lot of people I know have a few pet duck who were very imprinted on them.

You need to integrate yourself into their life more, since they are the age they are, it could take some time, but try to be near them more and make sure your the one who feeds them, if they see you everyday then eventually they will become more atoned to you, and eventually let you hold them and pet them, without protest.

It's normal. Ducks were never meant to be pets, and it's good that they're not imprinted on you. Maybe you should consider another pet of some kind.

My ducks have alway been afraid of me even though handeled them since they were a few da ys old. I think they just bonded to eachother more than they ever bonded to me.
