My son is starting school this Thursday he is going to kindergarten. He really does not like sandwichs except for grill cheese and he is a picky eater. Does anyone have any ideas what I can put in his lunch box?

Uncrustables come in pb&J with grape or strawberry jelly, and they have grilled cheese too!! You just put it in the luchbox in the morning (it's frozen) and it will defrost by the time he eats. The thing is the pack only comes with 4 in it and there way too expensive for an every day option. I suggest some veggies in a ziplock, the 25 cent chips, and an apple.
Good luck!

Does he like PB&J? My kids eat that all the time for lunch. Maybe you could do cheese and crackers and lunchmeat. Maybe try getting some flour tortillas and play around with different ingredients until you both come up with something he likes, he can help too. You could do peanut butter & bananas, cream cheese and ham or roast beef, ect. (I would search google for ideas if this sounds like something he might like). I know it's tough trying to pack lunches when your choices are so limited. I try to give my kids variety, but honestly there isn't much you can do. Maybe even a salad with whatever he likes in it would work. Hopefully, this helps a little. Good luck!

Lunchables can be full of preservatives, etc. Instead, what about taking cold cuts and cheese (fresh, from the deli) and making "roll ups" - which are simple enough to roll in plastic wrap or put in a storage container.

Or what about cheese and crackers or peanut butter and crackers... veggies and dip or peanut butter...

Another option could be to buy a thermos and fill it with (maybe) pasta, soup, or anything else that could be stored in a thermos.

Good luck! Enjoy school!

My daughter actually takes a grilled cheese every day, just make sure you cook it earlier and it is completely cooled or it gets soggy, I make it and let it cool while we get ready and she takes that every day (she is also a picky eater)

We have also done cheese and crackers instead of a sandwich.

my daughter is soooo picky and she is 9!!! She is always eating nothing but peanut butter sandwiches for her lunch box but at least, she is eating...I would let your son help pick out his lunch and he will be more prone to eat it. If all else fails, just pack his favorite grilled cheese and he will be eat it...Good luck!!!

If he likes soup, then do that. If he will eats salads, make one and put dressing in another small container. And put in a pudding cup or jello cup, and a juice box. Just make the things he likes.
Also make sure the school allows peanut butter to be brought to school, here they do not any more. Because of so many peanut allergy's.

That's a good question. This is what my mom did for us kids and what i do for my nieces and nephews when i have them. They are also picky eaters. When you go to the store with your son you can ask him to help pick out things he would like for lunch. than he can help pack his own lunch ( you help of course). Not only would that help you out, but he will be proud of him self because he got to help you.

OMG my kid was just like him. She liked WRAPS. So I bought whole wheat tortillas and packed veggie wraps, chicken wraps, etc. Also I would pack a sugar free pudding, some carrots, or a few baked chips. She would buy milk at school or I would pack water.
