Expired inspection sticker...can I get out of having to pay it??

I just got a ticket for having an expired inspection sticker...if I take care of it right away (today) is there any way of getting out of having to pay it...does anyone know?

It expired the last day of 6/07 and I live in the State of Texas.

You don't say how far out of date your inspection is, however, sometimes courts will dismiss if a problem is corrected.

Next time I'm sure you'll have the reinspection on time!

The ticket has some kind of court date or deadline to pay it.

Before that date, you get another inspection done, and you keep receipt proof that you did so, and passed. This means take care of it PDQ in case repairs needed to pass.

Then show up to court with the proof that you are now in compliance. This MAY result in a reduced penalty. It also helps to grovel in court, apologize for having overlooked the fact that your inspection had expired.

You still have court fees to pay, even if they accept your late inspection. remember this Law is to protect you from harm-full emissions from your car (and ours). HUMMMMMMMMMMMM. another stupid law brought to you by your Federal state and local authority.

the fine for dumping it right in your back yard is about 2,000,000,000
sounds like dumping it in your back yard is cheaper.

hey instead of getting out of it, why not pay it cause you my friend were the one that was in the wrong, quit acting like the government and trying to get out of everything.
