Personally.... I like the idea of prison "chain gangs". Litter removal on highways, clearing brush, breaking rocks for roadways, etc. Pay them 25 cents an hour and make them pay for their tv and any food above basic prison gruel. Prison violence would be gone... they'll be too tired to fight.

No. Soldiers are highly skilled professionals who perform as a team. Death row inmates are sociopaths who think nothing of others. Trust in your teammate's abilities is foremost and putting inmates, who don't want to be there in the first place, with real soldiers would destroy this trust. I don't have a problem with putting death row inmates out clearing mine fields though. You know, whoever makes it across in one piece can go home.

Why do you propose using Fascist ideas ??

Nazi Medical Research - Dachau Concentration Camp.

Nazi Penal Battalions on the Eastern Front in WW2.

The men and the women of the US Armed Forces deserve to serve with people who are honorable US citizens not the scum of the gutter.

The Scum owe no allegiance to the US how would you make them do their duty or control them?

Hell no. The inmates on death row are there for cowardly and horrible acts. They obviously have no sense of loyalty or legality, or if they do, they have no respect for it. Do you really think that if they were sent into war in another country that even on the *front lines* they would be useful assets to our military structure? They'd be in the way, they'd probably just run for it as soon as they get out of the line of sight of their superiors, and I wouldn't put it past them to switch sides just because they were pissed off they got convicted by the US government in the first place. I just wouldn't trust them ... would you want convicted criminals from death row in a batallion with your brother, father, or son? I damn sure wouldn't.

I DO, however, think that they should use THEM instead of animals for scientific testing.

absolutely not, and i'll tell you why *I DON'T* think that would be a good idea....i used to be "married" (common law) to some idiot that spent half his life in prison...one of my good friends was dating a Marine, she brought him over to our house and my ex says to the Marine "You know, I don't care how much training you've had, I don't care how tough the Military is....you people don't scare me, because I have killed more people than you ever will in your time in the Military." hearing my ex talk that way to a Marine made me sick to my stomach. I left the *******...and married a Marine =) so NO, i would not want some dead beat murderer/drug addict going to fight a war for us knowing that he will eventually turn against his own people.

It is vitally important to trust the guy next to you when you are in battle. Would you feel good knowing your partner was a serial killer or the leader of a gang who would just as soon as kill you as help you if they thought they could make it out alive and free? No thanks

NO, what would this solve? Who would be in charge of them? It is a all volunteer military. They havent earned that right or the right to be free no matter what circumstance.

medical research maybe but i would not want my country defended by a bunch of criminals who would see it in their best interests to defect or surrender all the time.
