The earth doesn't need any help. It has existed for over 4.5 billion years. It has experienced extreme heat and extreme cold. There has been uninhabitable environments, as well as the present inhabitable on. Many of species of life, both plant, animal an other have lived and gone extinct. Earth is doing OK.

Elizabeth...
you may have heard of the big UN sponsored Global Warming report? All the top scientists from all over the world who spent years writing up a report about Global Warming?
Its called the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change.....or the IPCC for short.
If you really want to know whats happening, googel that and do some research on your own.
But I'll give you a short cut.
The IPCC report says the WORST POSSIBLE CASE......if everyone does nothing and things go as they are is:
Sea Levels rise 3 feet.
The worlds temperature goes up 2 degrees.
and thats it.
Does that sound like we're in Big Trouble?
and as far as the polar bears go, an expedition just got back with the first black woman to walk to the North Pole. Not swim. Walk.

Don't worry,,, yet.
So far the data isn't that good and the effects of global warming is just a guess. There are still a lot of scientists who don't think you can prove that human activity is reponsibile for global warming. In fact one scientific organization is offering $100,000 to anyone who can offer proof that we humans are causing global warming.

Kill 80% of the worlds population. But this will only help man. The Earth will live on long after humans are gone. Unfortunately, the polar bears will have to go also.

I am petrified about it! Thank goodness there are many ways you can help, I chose to make a plan on yahoo and pledged to air dry my clothes, recycle my trash, Drive less aggressively (don't accelerate and brake rapidly), Drive the speed limit, you know little things. I unfortunately can't go out there and clean our streets or our beaches because I don't have the time but I feel great about doing those little things. I believe small things can also make a difference and we all have to work together to save our planet! Here is the link if you want to create your plan and help out just go here (http://green.yahoo.com/index.php?q=learn) then click on count me in! you'll be helping a whole lot!!! :o)

I don't think we should run to the mountains in fear. It is something to be concerned about definatly. But if we really cared about the environment wouldn't we drive less ? Or is that too much a hassle for everyone ?

I am very scared of "global warming". I believe politicians will us this scare as a reason to impress their social programs on others, limiting freedoms of individuals.

i'm not scared.......just concerned that it's happening when i'm alive...........no one can do anything about it......get it into your head!!! it's mother nature, you can't tell mother nature what to do.........it's like making you have surgery turning into an ugly fat man without you wanting to.........think about it...........global warming is just part of a natural phenomenon........it's been happening wayyy before industrialization.....
