and how long approximatly would it take to rust ?

also is there any negative points in leaving them in instead of them being removed through keyhole surgery ?

The wires are totally inert and never rust. Generally they are left in.The ones holding fractures together sometimes eventually break and have to be removed for that reason.

metal requires oxygen to rust, the process of rust is called oxidation...so a wire implanted in the body, for say a pacemaker or to hold a sternum together after heart surgery, cannot rust, there is no free floating oxygen inside the body cavities, only in the blood vessels and they cannot affect those wires...so no, wires in the body from surgery will not rust.

no because blood is a liquid that dosent make things rust. blood isent a sort of rain 'cause the substances that are in blood are not mixed with water...


you do need to leave the wires in because the injured part needs to heal while the wires are in

No; they do not rust because they are not in contact with the air. Let's hope they last for your life-time.
