You can do it with Hertz, go to www.hertz.co.uk and click on qualifications and requirements then rental restrictions it will giv eyou specific details. You jsut need to tell them that your going in so they can have the papers ready for you when you go to pick thecar up. They need to note it on your reservation for the people in the branch.

Car rental companies in NY usually limit cars to be driven only in the tri-state area, and the mileage is free. If you don't tell them where you plan to take the car, you might be able to get away with it, but when I did this, of course, I didn't tell them I planned to drive it out of state, but more importantly, I made sure I borrowed a car that did not have the navigation system on it so that they cannot keep track of your destination via satelite- If you let them know you're driving the car in long distance areas, they charge differently. Example: With Enterprise, if driven outside, they give you 150 miles free per day- after that, you have to pay about a quarter per mile. It may seem small, but it does add up!!!
So, your best bet is to do your research before going to them. Look up different car rental websites and read up on their policies. Hope this helped. Good luck.

Check with the company before renting. Also make sure to let them know what states/ other countries you will be bringing the car. Some agencies add this to the contract and if you have problems with the car in a place where you were not meant to be, there could be legal troubles/ large bills for you.

EZ Rent a Car is the one I would recommend. Really competitve prices and they have always been polite and helpful when I have used them. I know they have a pickup/drop off location in long Island, hope that helps.

Check directly with the rental company. Policy may vary from one to other.
