You can buy an HDMI cable for as low as $7 (3 ft)

This is a good web site

There is no way to watch HD video in 1080p from Blu-ray or HD players without HDMI

They are worth it! They provide a slightly better picture AND digital audio, all through a single cable....it cleans everything up. Plus, HDMI cables are about as cheap as Component cables, so why not?

Yes, it saves you separate cables for audio and video.

With HDMI you need only one cable (the HDMI), for all of that... and the picture and sound is pure digital HD.

It's about 80 to 100 for the cable, but it's worth it. It will blow your video games.
