I have been waking up in the morning with horrid lower back spasms. So bad that I cant get up, hardly walk, bend over...anything really. I have a 5 month old so this has been a problem. I do have DDD so I know some of the pain is coming from there....but this has been going on for weeks. It gets better if I take vicodin, soma and some ibuprofen. My doctors have not been too helpful....say its probabably the "normal" pain from carrying around a baby but I know its not. The pain is unbearable in the AM. It gets better, like I said, but never goes away. Could I have a disk problem? I dont know what to do. Everytime I have seen the docs they just give me more pain meds....and now when I call I think they think that is all I am looking for.

I agree with everybody else you must see a chiropractor as soon as possible. Chiropractors work wonders on back pain. I've enclosed a link where you can find a qualified chiropractor in your area.

Spasms and twitching can be caused by a magnesium deficiency.

If it is a sharp stinging pain in your lower back it could also be kidney stones and if that is the case then plenty of water will help for the pain.

It could also be a muscle problem. Perhaps a chiropractor can help you if that is the case.

Go to the chiropractor or another doctor. They can get you into physical therapy and fix your back. My dad has been having horrible back problems for the last 6 months, and thats what they did for him. (he has similar symptoms to you, except for the baby part haha).

Good luck! I hope you feel better :)
