Hurricane Dean has already caused deaths in the Carribean and is likely to cause more death and distruction in Mexico and Central America.

I realize that tangible aid is needed, but will those of ALL RELIGIONS represented here also join in prayer that God (or your Gods, for the Pagan community) shelter the people of the region?

I do not feel that ANY religious person should have any problem in cross-faith prayer for the protection of the innocents there....

*Goes into a very thoughtful mode*

Compassion is a common ground for all faiths.

Through my compassion, I feel for those people, and I pray they heal fast and are sheltered by the Creator.

Compassion is also the reason why we feel the need to act in the face of people who suffer, we feel to go out of our way to help them. With compassion all roads will be easier.

Yes.

May the Lady Mother Earth nurture and guide all in this time of life, and of death, which leads again to re-birth, in the Great Circle of life as human. We see Her great power, and look for shelter and grace.

So Mote It Be

Yes, and I hope that after you pray directly to God for the protection of those in the parth of the storm, you will enlist the aid of the Virgin Mary by praying

Hail Mary, full of grace, teh Lord is with you. Blessed are you among women and blessed is the fruuit of your womb, Jesus. holy Mary, mother of God, pray for us sinners now, and at the hour of our death.

Amen.

I'm all for prayer and physical help, but some people need to think about reading the the questions more carefully before they make themselves sound dumb.

I have been praying for everyone in Dean's path. I sat out a hurricane years ago. It is a scary and dangerous experience.

I don't think my Gods will help anyone, because the people must repent of their sins, which they won't.

I think it's Zeus's anger that causes this weather.

But it's certainly a possibility that he decides to have mercy on them as well.

Yes of course! " Father God we ask that you show mercy on those poor souls who live in the path of this horrible storm .We also ask Father that you comfort the families of the miners and the rescuers who died in their valiant attempt in saving them. In Jesus most precious and holy name Amen."
