Im finding that i am receiving too many violation emails from Yahoo. I have looked over all of my questions & answers to find the fault &, ive come to the realistic conclusion that i am receiving these notices due to the word ATHEIST, being used in my sentences. I dont think it is an offensive word? Do you?

You're probably right. No it isn't an offensive word, it's called the Almighty Report Button. Report people just because they can.

Everyone is entitled to have their own beliefs and feelings. I myself am a Christian and I would be just as upset if I got violation e-mails or if anyone reported me for using the word Christian. You should definitely get in contact with Yahoo and explain the situation to them. I'm sure there are people in places such as this who will report you for anything, if it's something that they don't agree with. I'm not sure what Yahoo's policy is on banning someone, but I would get in touch with them before they take these violations too seriously.

I'm a Christian and I have never reported anyone for having a different viewpoint. You are allowed! We all are allowed I hope! I think Yahoo should review these reports a little better.
I have reported people for certain sexually explicit answers or questions. Never over a religious or social point. That's ignorant.

A religious or non religious preference is NOT a four letter word!

The word, "Atheist" isn't offensive to me but, then again, I'm agnostic.

I used to be a Christian though and I do think Christians in general feel it's their "duty" to squash or discourage any thinking outside of Christianity. We were told to do such things in my church... for example, if we saw a questionable magazine in the store, we were told to complain to the owners. If we saw a gay couple kissing, we were told to tell them that god does not like what they're doing and that they must repent.

Of course, I wised up and refuse to take part in any of this sort of thing anymore. I think for myself and do not rely on a fictional book as a guide for my life

I have not read your past Q&A, but I do not believe you are getting violation emails from using the word, "atheist." It may have something to do with your screen name. You have the right to believe whatever you want to believe, and you have the right to voice your opinions, but so does everyone else. If you are in fact an atheist and have the sn of Gesus.Kryst, then it appears that you are mocking Christianity. To disagree is one thing, but to mock faith- and in turn the believer, can certainly be taken as abuse.

I'm a Christian. I do not report YA users because I disagree with them, even when insulting words are used. I do not "thumbs down" an answer either, just because I disagree.

Some people need to grow up and stop being offended over stupid sh**. I can imagine how they react to an offense in the real world. Geesh!

I'll probably be reported for this. *sigh*

I don't know but it is weird. I have had some of my questions removed and it made no real sense that they were removed. They didn't even have the word atheist.

What do you think!

Some Buddhist Wisdom.
Whatever attitudes we habitually use toward ourselves, we will use on others, and whatever attitudes we habitually use toward others, we will use on ourselves. The situation is comparable to our serving food to ourselves and to other people from the same bowl. Everyone ends up eating the same thing--we must examine carefully what we are dishing out.

Yes, I agree with you. Christians use the report abuse button waaay too much, as a means "getting back" at you for having a differing opinion. Such insecurity.
