What is a "new-guard" atheist as opposed to an "old-guard" atheist. Never heard the terms before today.

Somebody used them in a post on here. Can anybody help me out?

I think it's the same as what is also called 'anti-theist'. That is we think religion is a bad think and we are working to minimize it affect on society. i consider myself one.

People like;Chris Hitchens, Sam Harris and Richard Dawkins.

I've never heard the terms either. But if I had to guess, I'd say that the old guard atheists were live-and-let-live types, and that new guard atheists are more outspoken.
