the monkey theory is based on evolution
to your other question: just because your friend believes in Evolution, doesn't mean that she doesn't believe in someone bigger than herself
there are people who believe that the Bible is mostly symbolical, but based on truth (told in a way that regular people could/can understand... back then people were mostly uneducated)
