How can I tell if I have a zucchini or pumpkin vine growing? I didn't plant it, so I am not sure.

Pumpkins run vines EVERYWHERE and have large yellow-orangish flowers that open only in the morning like morning glories. Zucchini don't run vines all over the place like a pumpkin does. Plus, zucchini should be producing by this time of year. If you have flowers and no fruit right now (late august) it's a pumpkin and if healthy will begin producing fruit before too long.

I went on Google (am I allowed to say that on Yahoo?) and searched for "pumpkin vine picture". Got three good pics of leaves. It didn't work that directly for zucchini, but there was a site that sold zucchini seeds and they had pics of vines also. I think this would solve your problem.

The leaves are shaped differently. Post a photo or describe them - are they rounded or pointy, etc? Zucchini has 5-lobed leaves for example.
