in ny state does anyone know the amount of jail time one would be sentenced to if they received 2 counts of a class a felony in the second degree?
The person is not a minor and has been in the county jail two times before. Was caught selling drugs (special k and ecstasy) and also received on top of the 2 felonies a class A misdeameanor for marijuana
this person is my brother, i am nothing like him, do not do drugs or even drink, have no relationship with him but he is being arraigned tomorrow and then i have no idea what will happen after that but i want him in jail and i hope they keep him in there even when hes awaiting trial
my parents have done so much to try and help him but he always chooses the wrong path. they are both a mess right ow and i wanna try and prepare them for the jail time he may face. if i were to guess, hes screwed.

it'll depend on what his prior convictions were for, the amount he sold for the current charges, how good his attorney is, how eager the prosecutor is to settle/convict. too many variables right now, especially since just the arraignment is tomorrow.

It depends what felony he committed. A Class A Felony is the most serious felony type, and it could be up to 25 years to life depending on the crime, the judge, and if he is found guilty.

most states have a statuet for habitual offenders.
It is known as 3 strikes and your out.
If this is the 3rd time for drugs he may be up for life in prison.

it depends on the amount, and the state laws. He might be able to get probation. i would talk to the lawyer
