Good job getting your dog spayed. thank you for not adding to the population. Your dog will be fine, you will want to make sure the vet gives you some pain meds for the next few days. They are a little extra cost but if you just had that surgery wouldn't you want some pain meds? When she gets back she will be running around like nothing ever happened, puppies are normally just fine a couple days after surgery. But no matter how hyper she is, you need to keep her as calm as possible. You will also want to make sure she does not lick the area, if she is then you will need to get a cone collar. Your vet should give you a post op care sheet. Don't prepare a special meal, because she may still be feeling a little icky from the anestesia so if you give her anything that is different from her normal diet she could get sick and you don't want her to be ill on top of everything else. You just need to keep an eye on her and make sure she's not licking. Watch the area for any swelling and/or discharge, and if you notice anything take her back to the vet. You will also want to keep her from jumping onto the bed, counch, ect and running up the stairs. This kind of activity could make her pull out her stitches. Good luck and try to calm down, she will be fine.

THANK YOU for being so nice to your puppy! Don't worry, it's a pretty routine procedure and I'm sure all will be well. Tell your vet you've never been through this before so they explain in detail and pay attention to what the vet tells you..follow what he or she advises. And of course if you have any questions or concerns after you bring the pup home don't hesitate to call the vet and ask. Don't worry :)

Good for you for being a responsible pet owner!
The vet can answer all the questions you have about after surgery care. You'll need to make sure she has a quiet rest area so she can sleep and recover. Keep an eye on the stitches (although she'll probably have an e-collar) to make sure they don't tear or come out.

since she is staying the night at the vets, she might be fine by the time you pick her up. Just make sure she gets comfy and rested, and let her sleep if she still needs to. You can get her a special treat to make her feel better, if you want. Petsmart sells these adorable little dog cookies, and you could find a dog bakery too.

I have done this with lots of puppies, the younger the better, my Lab was up and bouncing off the walls in 30 mins after the op. This is the most common operation that a vet does, there are no problems with this.

Just get her a nice bed and make sure she has a lot of rest in a comfortable spot. Ask the vet what you can do to make her as comfortable as possible. The vet can tell you how to keep her stable and make sure nothing bad happens.

It'll be fine. She'll probably be sore and tired. The vet may give you pills for the pain, but may just prescribe a little aspirin.
No special diet. She may not eat for a couple of days, but just want to sleep. She should be getting back to normal in 2-3 days.

The vet will go over all of this when you take her for (or pick her up from) the procedure.
If you still have questions, don't leave until they are answered.
