It is the responsibility of your bridesmaids to purchase their own attire. You can find some great deals at larger retail stores, like Nordstrom or Macy's.

Bridesmaids usually buy their own dresses. Once when I was a bridesmaid the bride wanted dresses that were a little more expensive so she went halves on them with us. I didn't make my bridesmaids buy their dresses. I don't know if you have places like this where you live but here we have tons of little Mexican boutiques that have nice dresses for proms and such. You can order dresses from there. I had beautiful dark blue one's that went to the ankles, with little accents all over it. They were only $65. Depending on what you want you can also try prom dress places, sometimes they have some really elagant gowns. The store Deb's has nice things, also Ross Dress for Less is a good place. Open up the phone book and start calling places, also ask your friends and family. Good luck!

Some alternative ideas to this dilema. I went to JC Penny outlet and got bridesmaid dresses for $10 each. I gave them as gift to the bridesmaids because they had no idea how much I paid. They were really simple and decent looking, easy for everyone to get cut to fit perfectly.
Another idea would be to let the bridesmaids pick out/purchase their own dresses so they can get something they like and will wear again.
My sister did this and set guidelines of color, length and formality. She went with black and a certain length. She asked that we send a website or photo of the dress before buying just in case. It was great because we all had such drastic sizes, etc and I can still wear my dress and WANT to wear my dress today. Good luck!

It's very sweet of you to want to provide the dresses for your bridesmaids, and you certainly may if you like, but if you're having trouble affording it rest assured that in the US it is standard proceedure for the bridesmaids to buy/rent/make their own dresses.
One thing that might save you a headache or seventeen is if you pick a color - any color you like - and ask your bridesmaids to wear a dress in that color. If you tell them 'just find something about knee-length in pink' then it's up to each of them to find something that will be flattering and fit her budget. You won't get an exact match, but if somebody already owns a pink, knee-length dress, she's going to thank you for not making her shop for something 'briedesmaidy' and any who don't can easily find something in a shade and sillhouette that she feels pretty in.
But if matching is important and you want to cover the costs, I'd suggest checking the paper or craigslist or eBay for someone selling four bridesmaid's dresses in roughly the sizes you need (or a touch bigger - don't go smaller or you won't be able to get them altered to fit properly) at a small price.
Unless somebody does know of a good gown rental near you.

I would look on EBay for a set of four used bridesmaid dresses. You have a lot of time. They are sold there for very good prices. You should be able to buy some in a color and style that you like, and in sizes similar to what you need. Then you can have them altered. After the wedding you could sell them on EBay.
Good luck.

If you can afford to pay for all of the dresses (or offer to pay for 1/2 of all of the girls dresses) then do that. If not, perhaps you could pay for any extras such as hair, makeup, nails or shoes of all of the bridesmaids. That way she does get to save some money on the cost of being a bridesmaid but everyone gets the same treatment.

Try department stores. It doesn't have to be a bridesmaids gown. You may find a cute dress straight off the rack.
Ask your local bridal store. They may have rentals, or they may have used or discontinued dresses for sale cheap.
JCPenney has a bridal outlet.
They could wear their own clothes. My friend had 3 attendants and they wore their own in green and/or purple. I thought it looked fine.
Look in LL Bean or Land's End for matching casual type outfits, or search eBay. Or theknot.
Good luck on your wedding.

Just an FYI, its the bridesmaids responsibility to pay for their own dresses. If are strapped for money don;t feel like you need to buy them.
If you insist you may get luky at David's Bridal, one of my bridesmaids got her dress there on the clearance rack for $39.99, a lot cheaper than $120.00.

bridesmaids should buy their own dresses. you can probably buy a dress for about as much as it would cost to rent one. you can get some really nice dresses at department stores (like Macy's) that are cheaper and more wearable than dresses from a bridal shop.

Yes, like the others here, I've never heard of the bride buying the bridesmaid dresses. Let them do it. You have enough to pay for. You buy them a small gift as a thanks. But that's all.
