they havent been alone with out me with them so i know they didnt do it by them self plus shes a walker it would be next to impossible for him to lock with her with out her being held i thought it might be because my female was around so i took her to another room and hes even less interested he only wants to play and sleep , when he was last around a female in heat he never even wanted to rest could he really just not like this particular female?

sometimes if they are together all the time they don't care to breed. i had this problem with my basset - she "buddied up" to the male she was supposed to be breeding with and they wouldn't. good thing i knew the people that had his brother. try only letting them get together once a day. you don't really say if the female is staying there or not, but if she is then that may be the problem, may have to send her home and only bring her around once a day, because if seh is in the house, tehn he can still smell her and may not regain interest

Maybe the already locked up. But just because a female is in heat is not a positive thing that they will mate. Maybe the female is not interested and keeps backing him off. It makes me wonder that if he is only 4lbs, then how "small" is she? This is a very unhealthy thing to do, is to breed very, very small breeds. I don't think that you did your research very well. Imean, I don't want ot put you down, but you are just sounding like an irresponsible backyard breeder. Oh, and the only reason why you don't want to hear about how much you shouldn't breed your dogs is becaue you know that we are right, and that you are not doing it responsibly. Don't worry though, she will suffer and wont live as long as you want. But you will not care because pets to you are just money making machines. Take that and read it.

If your male is experience in breeding he may know she is out of heat . An inexperience male will mount ,even if the timing is wrong, and for starters only offer the female every second day, if you breed every day his sperm count will decrees so if you breed 4 days in a row on the 4th day might be the right day, but his sperm dose not have enough time to build up. sperm has a 2 to 3 day life span in the female so by covering her every 2 days sperm counts stay up and you are sure to catch her .

Don't worry, I'm not here to say anything about you breeding your dog :) He might just be to young ) or your female is not ready yet. Is the female still swollen & spotting alot yet ? if so, then she is not ready yet to breed. The male's will know, just becuse she is in heat doesn't mean she is ready, or she will take a male.. Watch them, watch your female see when she go's down. The male will know when she is ready, if the Chihuahua is old enought he will know what to do..

If you don't already know enough to answer these questions yourself you haven't done your homework and shouldn't be breeding..understand?

EDIT:
If you have the help of a 'perfessional', then why isn't the perfessional there with you overseeing what's going on? I'd think any responsible breeder wouldn't allow a complete novice to attempt a breeding alone, without help, and without supervision. There are risks involved and things can, and do, go wrong. If you don't want to hear the truth then why ask here? Ask your perfessional. (misspelling intended)

sometimes it's just not the girl for him this does happen. Nothing you can do other than taking to the vet for artificial insemination that's about all.
this has happened to me and other breeders I know

Maybe they already "did it" and you didnt see them- that may be why he isnt interested anymore.

Just a thought...that is just a suggestion.
