feel about Atheist? I mean it seems most in here that claim to be against religion always target Christians, Jews, and Muslims. Atheist, how do you feel about pagans, Wiccans, Hindus, Budhist, and all the other types of religions? What if people worship the ancient Greek gods still how do you feel about that? And to those who are pagans, Wiccans, Hindus, Budhist, and other religions, what do you think of Atheist? It seems to me that Atheist only target Christians, Jews and Muslims in that order and don't think about the other religions. Well guess what....the other religions beleive in a god, spirits, or some form of higher power.

Anyone with a belief system that contradicts known facts is a self deluding fool. Whatever religion they are or claim to be.

Anyone with a private belief system that agrees with known facts I have no real problem with.

If you chose to accept gravity, the Earth going around the Sun, evolution, but happen to believe that there are invisible fairies at the bottom of your garden I have no problem with unless you try to insist that I believe it too.

If your belief system claim the power of prayer, magic, etc can change the physical universe you better have some hard evidence to back that up.

Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Judaism, Greek Roman and Egyptian mythology have all been shown to have fundamental contradictions with reality, at least at face value. If someone wants to persuade me that they are not a self-deluded fool, they need to explain how they have changed the writings of their belief system to accept known facts.

Interestingly enough the Dali Llama has clearly stated that if science ever discovers anything that contradicts Buddhist teaching that it is the teachings that must change because facts can not.

Most atheists I have met online and off are decent people. There's really only been one or two individuals that I can say I would avoid (they tend to go overboard). And the reason why Christianity is targeted moreso than minority religions is because it is the Majority and most of the time all it takes is one person to stand up on TV, profess to be a Christian and they will agree with damn near anything that person says afterward without even considering that the person may be a different type of Christian than the listener is. Besides that - the fact that they are constantly trying to make laws that place their religion above everyone elses under the guise of "Democracy" and when it doesn't work, they cry that they are being persecuted (How does a minority persecute the majority????????? Honestly).

Catholics have a two thousand year head start on destroying the natural world... most other religions are following in their footsteps... nature fights back, however not becoming part of a religion is how to get it right... look at the christians today,,, trying to force even Atheist to form into a religion,, Insisting that the world can only work that way... they are numerous they are loud and unfortunately that which came before atheists gave into becoming religions... it's time to stop seeing the world through the eyes of religions all together... religion destroys what we are looking for every time.

Actually, aside of those 3 religions, I don't have much of a problem with the others. Between the Jews in Israel killing everyone, the Muslim Jihadists, and the Christian totalitarian attitude; I don't see too many other religions being cited for behaving in these ways...

Their religion means nothing to me.

As far as the people, It doesn't matter what they believe- I judge each person on an individual basis... not as a group.

it's not my position to judge anyone. and i try not to, but when someone judges me because of my belief(or should i say non-belief), i don't really like it very much. christian, Muslims, Jews, Hindus or pagans...i don't care much about their spirituality, because it's a very personal thing, and it doesn't make much difference, people can be good or bad following any religion. so i don't feel anything special about pagans, wiccans, Hindus or Buddhists, they are just people to me, just like atheists or followers of Semitic religions.

The common perception is that those "minor" beliefs or religions don't matter to the atheist. The big publicity comes when you attack one of the Big Three. As for atheism... Frankly (my religion or lack thereof does not matter) my opinion is that all should be accepted. No group should be manhandled or ridiculed. No group should be made to feel left out of society. So far that has not proved possible. My personal goal is to be accepting of those who believe as I do... And those who do not. I know what my choice is. And in my life... That is what should matter. Not what others say or think. If someone does find solace in being atheist, then good for them. If someone finds solace in being one of the Big Three, good for them as well.

I do not believe in ~any~ deity from any belief and will say so when asked by anyone from any belief. I don't care that people want to be religious and believe what I don't believe in. However, I don't like proselytizing and I hear that mostly from christians. I have friends who are muslims and jews and they don't ever try to get me to believe - discuss yes but threaten with hell, no. My friends who are pagan, satanist, hindu and various other beliefs accept me as I am.

Atheists have one thing in common across the board - they don't believe in any god. As far as how all atheists "feel" about every single religious sect in the history of the world, that may be tough to sum up. I personally am not "targeting" anyone, as that implies attack. I will defend, if necessary. You will not find a good answer to this question, you will only search out one that reinforces what you have most likely already concluded.

Many people need religion to live morally. Perhaps they have not associated consequences with actions. It is when their morals are based on religion rather than on humanity that people start to fight about morals. Wars between nations are falsified as religious to get the support of the majority of citizens of that nation. In truth, those wars are based on territory and the resources within that territory. The greediest always wins.

You mean atheists (sorry, we've seen it misspelled about 100 times on here)!

But anyway, I'm not atheist but I'm agnostic and don't practice a religion. I do not respect Abrahamic religions (Christian, Jewish, Muslims) because the followers of these religions tend to be the most violent and closed-minded. The other religions you mentioned welcome questions and are not afraid to change their mind if proof is presented. Also, Buddhists, Wiccans and Hindus are the most peaceful beings I know and not a single one has tried to witness to me. Because of those facts, I respect those religions but not the Abrahamic ones.
