It's a state that we all start at so it's pretty unremarkable. It isn't an achievement and no one has ever had to do anything to be a virgin. It's artificially given meaning by some people but in and of itself it has almost no meaning at all.

Objectively it has no more meaning than having toenails.

That's a vague question, and it needs narrowing down for anyone to properly answer. Now my take on the question is this: I find virginity as a gift that I'll give to my future husband. I think virginity has been cheapened by society, because far too many guys and girls find it shameful to have not slept around. Where's the shame in waiting for the only person that'll matter in the end?

People that talk about it like its a holy grail are naive and likely haven't had many opportunities to lose theirs. Need proof? 61 percent of students making abstinence pledges break them. A little over half of the ones that do keep the pledge engage in oral sex, which is sex as defined by the trial of Bill Clinton. Furthermore, holding virginity in high regard leads to more abstinence only sex education which downplays the effectiveness of birth control methods. This, in turn, leads to MORE teen pregnancy and STDs.

Virginity is a choice, nothing more and nothing less. The amount of importance it carries is based solely on the individual and has no basis in any other scale of merit except on one's own moral barometer.

i really think you should have sex with your partner before you get married cuz marriage is hard enough and if you bring sex into the mix it will only make it harder!!!

love is one thing but if you are not happy in a certain part of your life its going to show sooner or later and it will become a issue no matter how much you love someone thats just life

some times someone is perfect for you untill you go to bed with them maybe they are just to picky and will not do anything except one pos then you become bored and look else where

I think that virginity is a good thing. I bet a lot of people hate they lost it. After-all, it is considered to be most priceless.

I think a lot of importance is placed on it and that makes it a more emotionally charged subject instead of just a phase of life.

It's something young people should hang on to until they are mature and responsible enough to handle all the issues and repercussions that can occur from having sex.

virginity is a prize every guy wants to take. the woman either needs to treat it as something special and save it for the right guy, or just give it away to the first guy she gets drunk with and not care.
