well not to defy the state(or province) but doesn't war go from a picture of a breathing soldier to a picture of a coffin?

Im not sure what the reference for the original question is, but from my experience after 12 years in the Army and 5 deployments....

Soldiers join for a variety of reasons. Some for experience, some to see the world, some to get college money, some to get away from home, and some for thier country. In the end, no matter what the reason they originally come to the military, they decided the best way to get to where they were going is to serve their country.

You learn about duty as you get your initial training. Some already know about this, some learn it at basic. You learn about how you can bring your skills to a team, and how that team functions better by mixing those skills. You learn that your fellow soldiers will watch your back and you watch thiers.

A lot going into the military have a stylized idea of war from movies, books and other things. Some of the ideas may be kind of romantic type ideas of serving your country. Fighting for truth and justice and that type of thing.

You learn quickly that war is not clean. Its down and dirtly. Most of those romantic ideas fade away, but one thing remains... Duty. No matter what else happens around you, good times, bad times, confusion, frustration, monotony, accomplishment, setbacks, news from home, the news on TV and such, life, maiming, death... through it all duty remains. The job has to be done and your battle buddies need the team as a whole. They become like family. It becomes less and less about those romantic ideas and more about reality, the team and duty.

is this a test question somewhere that you are repeating? or do you mean you dont understand your own question.
young idealistic soldiers who have never been to war are instantly turned into realistic salty soldiers once the rounds are actually returned from downrange.
