They really are not "on top", despite a few Christian Bible fundamentalist neo-conservatives trying to prop them up. Lately the world is changing its mind.

Jews work hard and have strong, tight family and Jewish-only friends relationships Let them have some of these material successes short term, as they don't believe in a real Heaven or any afterlife ! Thus they put all efforts into the secular brief worldly life. Well, at least they did ! Now many of them are in an existential spiritual identity crisis.

Jesus tells us that there are now no more Jews or Gentiles in the Family of God. (the Kingdom of Heaven) All are Divinely Beloved sons or daughters of God in Jesus !

There never was a "chosen race" or a "chosen people". God works with and transforms believing INDIVIDUALS.
Personal religion will eventually dominate here over mere human organized religions.

Who was God's choosen people? Where do anyone think all the wealth is? Who did God say I will make you a Great Nation? The Jewish people are known to make anything out of nothing. More wealth is in Israel than any place else on this earth. They just haven't discovered it yet. And when they do, the percentage of billionares will shoot sky high with the Jewish people. Don't be surprised when it happens. What needs to happen is that the Jewish people need to turn their unbelief to belief.

That old canard about Jews controlling all the money (or the media, or the banks, or the government) is just anti-semitic propaganda. We are about 0.2% of the worlds population, and about 2% of U.S. population. We are too small to control anything. Israel, the country with the largest Jewish population, unfortunately has significant poverty issues.

It is fair to say that some Jews are quite successful. Culturally, Jews emphasize education and family, which provides a good support system for success. We tend to have less problems such as divorce and substance abuse. The success you see in science, medicine, business and the like is the result of setting goals and working hard to achieve them.

Well - I would like to believe it is our special relationship with God, but I think the answer is really much more simple - as a group we have always had a strong belief and focus on the importance of education and as most studies show a good education is more likely to lead to financial and professional success than anything else. However, I would remind you that Jews are not on top after all because although we represent I high percentage of things you mention we are not all the billionaire or all the nobel laurittes. What you mention is something that makes me proud to call myself a Jew - but we are hardly on top of the world. The Holocaust and 2000 years of wandering with other autrocities committed against us makes it hard to except we are always so blessed with good fortune.

It could be that the Jews have higher expectations of their children (better education, better jobs) and that this has gone on for so many generations that they have risen to the top. It could also be that God blesses them in an effort to win them to the Messiah, it could be that you are using invalid statistics...At one time Sam Walton was the richest man in the world, he was not a Jew. He died and his estate was divided and left 5 of the top 10 in the world his descendants (also non Jews) and then along comes Bill Microbucks Gates and he is not a Jew but surpassed the Walton Dynasty...now what was your question?

Because Jews never converted others to Jews. They remained confined to their own race always. They remained pure, chaste race which never lost its identity in the foot steps of time.

And above all, necessity is the mother of all inventions. Jews were forced to look around for life in pre-modern Europe, which they had made their homes, after driven from their own home land. The centuries of oppression unconsciously shaped their psyche to look around for better opportunities of survival, however, unconscious was this/that. This made your forefathers seek better and better employments. Their sons better and better education. Then slowly there came a Karl Marx, there born an Einstein and so on and so forth. But let me tell you the seed was the Europeans themselves. Few Greeks, few Europeans geniuses together outnumber the whole of Jewish race put together may be. But Hail! those few genius and intelligent Jewish men that were ever to be born on this earth. Einstein brought blessedness to numerous science thirst population and Marx brought a morsel to millions of hungry mouthed souls.

Nevertheless, Jews were not, all good and no evil. They too had and have their positive and negative sides of the game. As much as any other race on earth. But with other races the culture is too much mixed and became unchaste as they spread to a wide spectrum of humanity. This happened with Christians spread across the globe, they reached both low and high. Therefore, only the elite few got to invent or discover new things and the highest number of the christians who fell in the lower strata of the society could not reach the intellectual summits. Same happened with Islam, for they did not remain a pure Arabic race rather mixed with other races as they got converts. And most of the Islamic community lives in poverty without education even today. Same is the case with another Jewish equivalent the Hindu/Aryan race. For there were numerous onslaught on their race as Indians, from foreign lands. And till date most of the population lives in the shades of poverty.

Poverty alone is not to be blamed. But the dynamism was absent with others as you see when society made progress. Hope that suffices for the time being here.

I don't know and I don't have any research to back me up, but it's probably a cultural things. Christians, for example, are instructed that they must have faith and focus on religion, whereas Jews do not a belief on faith that is quite so stringent.
