Anything in which you usually use ground beef, you can substitute ground turkey or ground chicken. I make tacos, Sloppy Joes, burgers, meatloaf, meatballs, spaghetti sauce...all with ground turkey.

Ground turkey is so much better for youthan ground beef. It also has alot more flavor! What I love is spaghetti with ground turkey, it is so tasty. Also, tacos are good and vegetable and ground turkey stew. Basically, anything that is made with ground beef can be made with ground turkey. Hope this helps!

I have been using ground turkey for over a year, I have made meatloaf, sloppy joes, turkey burgers, tacos, etc. I pretty much substitue the hamburger for the ground turkey, works well and the family loves it.

You can make one of those taco or burrito recipes that usually take ground beef. By the time you add in all of that seasoning its turkey origins will be completely lost and they can wrap the meat into a flour tortilla and think of it as a typical beef treat.

Spicy Turkey Burgers!

* 1/2 cup fresh cilantro, finely chopped
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1/4 cup low sodium soy sauce
* 1 tablespoon freshly ground black pepper
* 3 tablespoons paprika
* 1 tablespoon ground dry mustard
* 1 tablespoon ground cumin
* 1 dash Worcestershire sauce
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat the grill for high heat.
2. In a bowl, mix the ground turkey, garlic, ginger, chile peppers, red onion, cilantro, salt, soy sauce, black pepper, paprika, mustard, cumin, and Worcestershire sauce. Form the mixture into 8 burger patties.
3. Lightly oil the grill grate. Place turkey burgers on the grill, and cook 5 to 10 minutes per side, until well done.
Ground Turkey Taco Salad Recipe!
1 pound Ground turkey 1 medium Avocado
1 package Dry taco seasoning mix 1 can (12 oz) Refried Beans
1 medium Lettuce 1/2 cup Sour cream
2 cups Cheddar grated 1 small can Jalapeno peppers
1 can Black beans or red kidney beans -- OPTIONAL --
2 large Tomato diced 3 Scallion chopped
1 medium White onion Salsa
1 bag Tortilla shells 1 small can Corn
Directions
In a medium-sized skillet, brown the ground turkey with the taco seasoning mix over medium-high heat, stirring to break up the meat: drain and cool. Heat beans in a saucepan on low to medium-low heat.
Now, this is a hot and cold salad. While the natural American tendency is to put the hot food (beans/ground turkey) on top of a bed of lettuce, it works much better to sequence it as follows:
1) Place a small "pancake size" dollop of refried beans on plate
2) Add ground turkey
3) Sprinkle with cheese
4) Heat in microwave for 1 minute on medium high or high power
5) Add chopped lettuce, tomatoes, black beans, jalapenos, cheese... sour cream... salsa and any optional items you want.
Top with crushed tortilla chips, also optional.
Ground Turkey recipes are all over the net , these are my personal favorite!

Tacos and taco salad. You can simply add a package of taco seasoning to 1 pound of ground turkey and follow the directions as if it were ground beef.

Here's one:
Ground Turkey and Black Bean Salad Toss
2 lbs ground turkey
2 (15 ounce) cans black beans
2 cups diced bell peppers
1 1/2 cups diced yellow onions
5 minced fresh garlic cloves
1 1/3 cups salsa picante sauce
2 tablespoons dried basil
2 tablespoons dried dill
1 tablespoon dried oregano
1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
1 dash cardamom
1 dash turmeric
2 tablespoons olive oil
hot sauce, of choice, added at table (optional)
16-20 cups torn salad greens (bagged salad is fine)
8-10 tablespoons low-fat sour cream
8-10 ounces shredded low-fat cheddar cheese
Saute all the veggies and spices together.
Add the turkey and cook until it browns and gives up the fat.
Drain it thoroughly!
Return to pan or pot, add the salsa and the black beans.
Cook until really hot.
Add salt and pepper, and hot sauce if desired.
Serve over mixed salad greens (suggested one cup of turkey bean mixture) with a tablespoon of low-fat sour cream and/or shredded low-fat cheddar cheese.

Any recipe you use ground beef in you can substitute ground turkey instead. I use it in anything, and you can't tell the difference tastewise. Once you have the seasonings in whatever recipe you choose, it doesn't matter, and no one could tell that it's not ground beef.
