My boyfriend's birthday is in less than two weeks. I want to cook him something-he always cooks for me but I have never cooked him anything. I am not really that good of a cook any suggestions on what to cook for him. I really don't want to have to take him out to eat. Thanks

Pasta is easy to make, impressive to serve, and just downright yummy! Look in the refrigerated section at the grocery store for fresh pasta and sauce. Cook the pasta according to package directions, drain, and toss with any sauce. Top with parmesan cheese (the real stuff, not the stuff in the green can). Add a green salad or caesar salad, some garlic bread, and a bottle of wine and there you go...instant romance. Add some mood music, candlelight, and chocolate covered strawberries for dessert.

Good luck!

Here's an easy chicken recipe for you :

To DIE for Chicken Marsala

4 servings
4 boneless skinless chicken breasts
4-5 tablespoons flour
2 tablespoons olive oil
8-10 ounces sliced mushrooms
4 cloves garlic, sliced
2 cups marsala wine
3 cups chicken stock
salt
pepper

Place chicken breasts between two pieces of plastic wrap.
With a meat tenderizing mallet, pound chicken breast until they are 1/4 inch thick.
Dredge breasts in flour until all sides are coated.
Heat olive oil in a large skillet or frying pan.
Cook breasts until almost done, about 3-4 minutes on each side.
Remove from pan being sure to keep warm.
(I put them in a small cake pan and place in a 200 degree oven) Deglaze pan with Marsala wine, making sure to scrape bottom of pan to loosen all browned bits that may be stuck on.
Add broth, mushrooms and garlic.
Cook on medium/high for 10 minutes or until reduced by half.
Add breasts back to pan and cook for another 10 minutes.
(Sauce should have reduced more and thickened some) Serve over angel hair pasta.

your best bet here is go along to yor local supermarket & get fresh stir fry mix i.e. mushroom stir fry + fresh chicken , fresh egg noodles & a stir fry sauce. dice chicken and fry off in wok until cooked, place to one side, chuck in the stir fry mix plus noodles , turning over for approx 4 mins, throw the chicken back in the wok with the mix stir fry for about 2 mins then serve voila lovely meal....you can serve with garlic bread or chiabatta if desired....have a lovely time

Desserts-
This is the best! I made it so many times , it is a great desert , dinner recipe after this one.....

Chocolate Banana Parfait-
Marble Tuiles:
1/2 cup all-purpose flour
1/2 cup confectioners’ sugar
3 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 egg whites
1 tablespoon Godiva® Hot Cocoa powder, Dark Truffle Flavor

Milk Chocolate Custard
10 bars (1.5 ounces each) Godiva® Milk Chocolate, chopped
1 egg
5 egg yolks
2 1/2 cups heavy cream
1/4 cup light rum

Sautéed Bananas:
4 firm-ripe bananas
4 tablespoons unsalted butter
1/3 cup granulated sugar
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
1/8 teaspoon ground cloves

Assembly:
1 1/3 cups heavy cream

Make tuiles:
1. Position rack in center of oven. Preheat oven to 350ºF. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

2. Sift flour and confectioners’ sugar into a medium bowl. Add melted butter and egg whites. Mix with a large spatula until a very smooth batter is formed. Transfer 1/4 cup batter to a small bowl and set aside.

3. Sift hot cocoa powder into the bowl containing remaining batter mix until well combined. Transfer batter to parchment-lined pan. Spread into a very thin rectangular layer, about 11- by 15-inch using a small offset metal spatula. Dot surface of chocolate layer with reserved batter, in half-teaspoon sized mounds. Smooth plain batter over chocolate batter with offset spatula creating marbleized pattern, making sure to keep combined layer as thin as possible.

4. Bake for 8 minutes or until set and dry. Cool completely in pan on wire rack. Break into irregularly-shaped, serving size pieces.

Make custard:
1. Place chocolate into large heatproof bowl and set aside.

2. In a medium heatproof bowl, whisk egg and yolks until blended.

3. Pour cream and rum into large, heavy saucepan. Heat to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat and gradually add half of hot cream mixture into egg mixture, whisking constantly. Pour mixture back into saucepan. Cook over medium low heat, stirring constantly with wooden spoon until mixture thickens enough to coat back of spoon, about 1 minute. Strain mixture into bowl of chopped chocolate. Let stand 30 seconds. Stir until melted and smooth. Cover surface of custard with plastic wrap and refrigerate for several hours until thickened and thoroughly chilled (up to 1 day in advance).

Make sautéed bananas:
1. Peel and slice each banana diagonally into 1/3-inch thick slices. Discard ends.

2. Melt butter in a medium skillet set over medium-high heat. Add sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg and cloves and cook until sugar is dissolved. Add bananas and sauté until they are coated with butter mixture, about 30 seconds. Keep warm.

Assemble desserts:
1. Pour cream into medium, chilled mixing bowl. Whip cream on medium
speed for 30 seconds; increase speed to high and whip until firm peaks form. Refrigerate until needed.

2. Fill each wine or parfait glass with one-third milk chocolate custard. Spread about 2 tablespoons whipped cream in an even layer. Top with another layer of custard. Arrange 5 sautéed banana slices on top of custard. Garnish with remaining whipped cream and a piece of marbled tuile.
