The devil, satan, once Lucifer was cast from heaven and is come here to deceive the nations and all people who will listen to him. Adam commited high teason and gave away ALL power and authority in his earth realm over to satan when he disobeyed God and submitted to satan's temptation. Since Adam had been truly given all the dominion and authority over all the earth by God, and he was the first, and then ONLY man, when he gave that away by bowing to the will of this deceiver, satan became the ruler over the earth and is still called in scripture the "prince of this world kingdom".
That is NO problem for those who accept Jesus as LORD and Savior since we then begin our life back up under the power and dominion and authority of God and satan has NOTHING to harm us... READ Luke: 10: 18- 20. The devil is a fallen angel and has no literal body through which to exercise his un-holy will against you except through people who serve him. YOU have all power and authority over ALL his power, in the name of Jesus.
The devil IS lording over all those who do not have Jesus inside them and the kingdom of this world system is under his influence. No matter how it looks, he is a defeated foe and his actual "hell sentence" is delayed until the original earth lease is over.., and soon. Then the true Lord and Creator will return and take back what is rightfully His and those who have loved His appearing!
Read the parable in Luke 20: 9- 18. and it sort of tells the same thing.
Yes, it does appear as you say, but read the end of the story and receive it by faith!!

I think Satan has the upper hand for now, but that's just because God wants Satan to feel lulled by His relative powerlessness. When God's ready, He'll put a squeeze on Satan, possibly putting him in a scissorlock, and jam his head into the posts, pinning him to the mat once and for all.

god has warned us and forewarned us that in the later days things will get bad you see when Jesus was born the signs were 1 night looked like day and there was a new star and during the second coming the signs will be harsher you see back then when the records were written they didn't have alot of bad stuff anyways the signs are 10x worse of Earthquakes, Tornado's, Fissures, Robbing, Murdering, Malesting, and other abuse all that is already happening. the signs that are still to come are the moon will turn blood red, there will be three days of total darkness, and the greatest war of all time will be held between Gods forces And Satan's forces the wars name is Armageddon

if I were to believe in either, I would say that God needs satan and satan needs god, yen, yang, good, evil - balance. I think that satan took a back seat to humans a long time ago, we are the worst destroyers. Our environment, our lives and the lives of others, wars, tax's, the rising cost of medical care, etc. Put the blame where it belongs and not on God or the devil, we create the destruction all by ourselves with out any outside help.

Not really:
According to Satan, when he was tempting Christ, this world was given over to his dominion, which would explain why there is such a host of ANY OTHER doctrine that is publicly accepted whereas Christianity is being constantly faced with hostility and challenged in any way possible.
The good news is that this life, this place, and this time is not the end all and be all of existence. Those who put their faith in Christ and repent of their wickedness will have eternal life. Satan is tempting and tricking many, but he is already defeated.

This IS satan's world. Only the presence of the Holy Spirit keeps him under control. When the rapture occurs and all Christians are removed from this world, there will be no need for the Holy Sprit to hang around. Then all hell is gonna break loose.

Well many Christians believe he is the Ruler of the World, that is worldly things and in the material world.
Most religions believe in some form of the world from the less educated "SATAN" to the more educated "Maya" or delusion/human ignorance though in Hindu and Buddhist mythology Maya is sometimes personified in a figure.
Of course, worldly things and desires and attachments are of Maya or Satan or whatever you want to call it. They generally leave us feeling unhappy.
The only way to fill our lives is spirituality of some kind.

I really do. I think this world is ruled by Satan. And I believe it is written somewhere in the Bible that satan rules this world. That is why most christians are waiting for the savior to return.
The Bible says we don't know the hour or the day.
