I need an excuse to stay home from work today. It has to be something believable and I need it quick! It can't be something that will be a problem tomorrow though (1 day issue). Oh and it has to be something a female can use (my boss won't believe that I got kicked in the nuts and now I'm pissing blood - I'm not a guy!). By the way, I work at McDonald's and I've only been working there for like a month.

How good are your acting skills?

I've always found that calling in doesn't cut it - you always sound phoney. Trust me I've been the caller and the manager in my time.

If you can REALLY act it up a storm - go to work looking like "death warmed up" give it 5-10 minutes then go straight to the boss and lay it on thick (looking like you're about to barf on their desk is good - perhaps some sounds of heaving in the toilet "luckily" overheard by other is also good) - they'll send you home and you might manage more than 1 day approved sick leave!

Say you have exruciating tooth ache and cant get a dentist appointment until later - then you can say you had to have a root canal and you are in agony so cant come in later either!!

Ive used it as an excuse before and people are always sympathetic as everyone has had toothache before!!

Go to work, no one's going to believe you anyway! You've only been there a month, there's plenty that will take your place.

severe tummy cramps, hint about what time of the month it is and if he questions you go into explicit details, such as heavy flow etc and that you'll come in if he doesnt mind you holding a hot water bottle to your stomach and curling up on the floor in pain occasionally
