I'm trying to create a video with WMM, though as soon as my imported clips go over one minute on the timeline, the prog shuts down...why is that?

My system IS fairly old, though up till now I have created clips over 3 minutes long.

I have AMD AthlonXP 2200+ running at 1.8ghz.
IGB RAM with 600+ available !!!
The hard drive is only 80gb but only 12gb used.

I think the spec of my Video card may be the prob, but as I said, up till now it's managed.... maybe I have something running in the background that's "Using" my resources???

It sounds like your computer cant handle the demands of the program. With every second you add to the timeline, the program is taking more and more resources away from the PC. If it takes too much, the program will shut down.

It's happened to me when I've done massive movies or used massive files, but never at one minute. Do you have a very old/slow/packed computer?
