I was under the impression that if they overcharged you they had to refund AND replace the item. Yesterday I bought 2 12 packs of Budweiser which was marked up as £10 each but I was charged £11.99 each. I didn't notice til I got home and I'm going back for a refund today, can I expect a £23.98 refund or just the £3.98 difference?

I worked in tesco years ago, and yes the policy is if they overcharge you, you will be entilted to your money back and the item free of charge, so yes you should get it all back, so stand your ground!

The policy you refer to was scrapped - coz people abused it - the policy now is to refund the difference

It used to be Refund, and Retain.....but they lost too much money, so now they refund double the difference.

Just the difference I'm afraid. We'd all be desperately wanting to be over charged otherwise. Enjoy your drinkies though. x
