I always wondered, why of all 60 troublesome Dictatorships around the world, Bush went into Iraq. I know, the motivation to start a war was, to justify the out of cotnrol spending for the military, but why Iraq? Now, could it be, that Pakistan, Philipines, N-Korea are to close to China? IS the USA just a big wuss, ready to start a fight, but not with a real threat?

Today the military threat that China and it's allied partner Russia are raising on the new geopolitical maps of the World are to big for USA to defeat by itself. You see also a gap between the political leaders that live wonderful lives in Washington DC, and in many paid vacations all over the globe... and the true American (or "bought") military and strategy geniuses, that are manly unappreciated.

Sci and Viking you are the worst cases of partial education in U.S's educational history. China was always protecting or interfering with the policies of their neighbors. China was at war with Russia but that did not stop them to do common operations around the world, see the pertinent documentation on the truth beyond U.S's military failure in Vietnam and Korea (I've studied these problems during my masterly studies on international security). Now we can boldly state that the super-powers of the moment are not intending to step on each others stretched (in order to pillage weak countries) hands... The leaders are greedy all over the world and they don't want to find themselves in long, destructive wars that raise no profit to them. You can see the wide cooperation between NAFTA, EURO and ASEAN, and also the "friendly" discussions between the Russians, Europeans, Chinese and Americans while dividing the CAKE... Friends don't go to war on each other.

Actually, Iraq is and has been a military cake walk. We lost more in Vietnam in a couple months as we've lost in Iraq in the last five years. In fact, today an American is statistically more likely to be killed in Cleveland or Washington, D.C. than Iraq. Is it fun? Do we want to be there? No, but isn't it about time actually addressed the threat that Islamic radicalism poses on the WORLD than to simply clean up the mess afterwards? Secondly, um, yeah, we did stop communism. People discount the Domino Theory because it didn't come to fruition. But the fact is that in 1957 communist aggression in the world was a virulant form of cancer. Consider the Soviet Union and their imposing communism on half a dozen satellite nations, nations that were not free until the end of the cold war. The same aggressive communist ideology, backed by both China and the Soviet Union was threatening to spread through out south east Asia. The United States could not allow this to happen. The more communism spread, the stronger it became as it gobbled up resources and forced the oppressed to serve in their aggression. Again, look at Europe. People of a once free East Germany would have been forced to take up arms against West Germany if their Soviet leaders demanded it of them. The only thing stopping that was, again, the United States. What is and where is communism today? It pretty much only exists in China and even that is petering out. Why? Because of the United States. After our efforts in Vietnam, the North Vietnamese had run their course. They weren't physically or psychologically prepared or capable of spreading communism any farther than their own borders. We lost South Vietnam, but we saved south east Asia. Hope that helps.

US a threat?
America just wants (like you said)
1. Justify their military spending
but also:
2. To make money rebuilding the country they destroyed
3. To restalk America's military stock pile
4. Invest in new military technology

All for the sake of protecting the American Dream...
and to preserve the American Economic Engine.
(continual GROWTH)

PS: if china wanted to kick America's *** in the 1970's Vietnam War... they would have.
But... what good would have that done for China?
No profit... just harm... there was no underlying reason to do so... hence... China refrained from doing it.

I am sure Japan, Taiwan, South Korea, the Phillapeans would dispute your claim that China is the protector of Asia.

China and Vietnam went to war a few years ago. They aren't the best of friends. Go back to your history class.

We ran from the Chinese in Korea and they didnt have nearly the power they have today. We could have actually secured the country if not for China; instead we let them give us our first military failure.

You just don't have a clue do you?

A mind is a terrible thing to waste- please go back to school or at least show up for classes.

George- you too! Those tankers are headed to Europe.
