G-force tolerance can be increased by:-

a) Excercises to build up and strengthen your stomach
muscles.
b) Use of G-suits which fit over your stomach and legs and
inflate under 'g' forces
c) Practice tightening your stomach muscles and holding
your breath as long as possible.

Note: Above is suggested since you would not have access to the equipment they have in the air force.

G Tolerance

All of these guys are right but I found out slowly increasing your max g's works the best. Make sure you take an aerobatic course and fly aerobatics at least once a month. My first aerobatic flight I got tunnel vision at 4.5 g's now I am pulling 7 without too much pain.An aerobatic course could also save your life.

If you are trying to prepare for entrance testing, my advice is to work out. The more muscle you have, the better you can do the full body squeeze. As other have mentioned, the "grunting" is an effort to squeeze blood back into your head. The better muscle tone you have the easier and more effective you will be.

There are some maneuvers you can do to keep the blood in your brains and help avoid readouts and blackouts. The common one is push hard and force on your muscles. This might help. Also if you are exposed to it more frequently you might fare a little bit better.

the USAF requires all its fighter pilots to pass the FACT (fighter aircrew conditioning test). this test is specifically designed to see how good the pilot is at g-force tolerance.

therefore, if you can achieve the standards of the FACT (see link below), you're well on your way to achieving high g-force tolerance.

Physical conditioning. Both exercise to improve your body's ability to endure stress and repeated exposure to g-forces to train yourself.

Practise it is the best option.

Try and keep your muscles tight, keep some breath in, etc. Imagine being constipated, its kinda like that (sorry guys!)
