Why do people keep asking the stupidest question ever...Will my girlfriend/ fiance receive benefits, housing, will she be taken care of while I deploy or can i live with my boyfriend and have the military pay for everything...Dont they understand that girlfriends and fiances dont exsist in the eyes of the military, not until you are married

The military takes care of FAMILIES not the screw of the week.
You want benefits ,make it a marriage, legally.

I don't think the questions are stupid but I do think they are selfish, self-serving and a way to base a marital decision. I always see the girlfriend/fiance questions and when I do, I instantly become disgusted. When we were dating and engaged the thoughts of benefits never crossed my mind, not once. I loved him and he loved me, we're going to spend the rest of our lives together and that stuff just didn't matter.
When we married he just did his paperwork, I did mine and whatever came out of it, came out of it; I got my ID card, he did his stuff for BAH and tricare and it's was done. whatever. I have my own job that has benefits and I took care of myself long before I married. It wasn't a big deal before and it's not a big deal now.
In my opinion, any girl that asks those questions before the "I do"s is trouble and maybe getting into this lifestyle for the wrong reasons.

Actually, I didn't think that the FIRST TIME the question was asked that it was stupid. It was someone who didn't know trying to get information.
After the billionth time the same damn question was asked, tho, it started to get old. Half the time when I see that a question has been repeated (pay, moving, medical/moral problems with enlistement) I don't bother with them (that's why I lost my "Top Contributer" status). The other half of the time I simple tell them to review the previously asked question before posting.

I'm guessing your question is rhetorical. People have been asking about their girlfriends and fiancees for a long time now. You know, after that amount of time you'd think it would finally sink in to ask the appropriate person.

I have no idea why people think that if the person is not willing to commit to a permanent relationship with the other, than why should the government be expected to foot the bill?

Your right not only to soldiers but in general also this questions seems stupid to me. I never ask or answer my personal questions in public or on yahoo answers. How can you agree upon ideas given by the unknown yahoo members who never saw you or even heard your voice.Really it's very stupid.

Best thing would be for the girlfriend/finance to live with the soldier's family then if they can't support themselves, don't you think? I can't believe that that option doesn't seem to occur to anyone...
