Apart from Iraq, American negatives run from a perceived gun culture, lack of healthcare, the influence of evangelical Christians, a lack of balance in the Middle East, commercialism, income gaps, and a lawyer-based society.

Younger Europeans say America defines much of the way the world thinks. Many say they are swimming in an ocean of American media.

My question simple what is the opinion of Evangelical that are just after gun culture and lack of healthcare?

I don't disagree with any of this. We do have a rabid gun culture, our health care system is a mess (unless you're rich), and the evangelical Christians have far too much political influence. We can sing all the songs we want about how great we are, but we just end up looking like parents who love their children but think they can do no wrong. All you end up with then is a bunch of spoiled brats. We carry on like the spoiled brats of the world.
Please do not question my patriotism: I pay my taxes and have voted in every single election in the 30+ years that I have been eligible to vote. This country could be better than it is, and that can't happen until people are willing to admit that it has flaws that need to be corrected.
For someone to complain about how French women dress (have you ever noticed how they show American women dressed for work on TV?) and legal marijuana (as if that's any worse than people drinking booze out of paper bags on the corner) only makes you look provincial and, frankly, silly.

Evangelical Christianity is a culture that is a terrible drag on the American society. This because they are built upon sand and they will sink fast! Why? Because they preach that Jesus is the Messiah. Europe is still super liberal with everything else. In some areas, prostitution is legal....as well as places to legally go & smoke pot......

I think we're ok compared to alot of European cities.
Have you seen the way some French women dress for work?

I'll admit, our health care system stinks........but we're still free in alot of ways here.
