I just learned from my doctor last week that the omega 3 oils, and a good quality fish oil tablet helps to relieve inflammation which in your case may be causing pain. It's a trial and error thing, and pain is not something that is easy to live with. I've had quite a bit lately and I've taken 3 tuna oil caps in the a.m. and the p.m. and it has helped a bit.

The other thing I'm learning is about keeping the body in the right acid balance. If you have osteoarthritis, your body is probably in a highly acid condition. Pain killers, no matter the source add to this acidity of the blood and are highly toxic to the liver. To be healthy, we need to bring that down into a more alkaline state. There are test strips you can get at a health food store to test your own body's acid/alkaline state. I studied this a lot a year ago on the web. I found that juicing vegetables helps. Wheat grass juice also helps and when I can't get that I take the tablets. Do what you can to study. Most doctors don't give you all the nutritional information that you need. The internet has all kinds of information. Good luck.

I'm enclosing a link that gives great suggestions for all types of natural treatments for osteoarthritis. Give some of them and try and see what helps. It's going to be trial And error.
