From all the records of Contemporaneous historians where is this Jesus fellow? You'd think that someone who rioted against an entire temple would at least be documented by these historians. What's your viewpoint?

"Prove to me that Plato existed. Or Aristotle. Or Odysseus. Or Alexander the Great."....once again....these people were DOCUMENTED.

I'm sorry...but the pentacle has been used in MANY pre-Christian religions. Pre - meaning before. Therefore you are using the ancient pagans symbol for your own thing. Which is pretty hypocritical to your scripture.

There is no archeological or historical evidence of Jesus. It's also impossible that a gathering of 50,000 would not be commented upon by contemporary (existing at the same time) sources.

Also, asking someone to prove the existance of someone else doesn't answer the question and the fact that you exist proves you had a great, great grandfather.

I believe because I have a very strong believe and faith. I do not have to have proof, as I have it in my heart. The Holy Spirit is the only thing I need. Can you prove how you were created from nothing, can you prove that you can pop out of the ground without the help of your mother and father. Some things just cannot be proven, but your faith tells you that you are right. I believe in God Almighty, who created everything, He was the "Master Engineer", now if His words say that Jesus was the son of Man, then that is good enough for me. You do you think that God, the "Master and Creator" of all, would allow His book, and His word, to be put together and circulated for thousands of years, if He did not approve of it. If God could create all things, then He could sure create a Book He wanted all to read, and live by, the words of the Bible. You either believe it or you don't, but if you are looking for proof of God, just look in the mirror, and you will see a "fellow" that cannot make anything, and the Jesus fellow, was real, don't knock it, because when the big day comes, you might not be on the good list. Believe in God is by faith, and if you do not have it, then so be it.

I am not sure I know what you are asking. Are you saying you expect to find what amounts to a police report about Jesus turning over tables in a temple? If so, I would be very suspect if anyone could produce such an inconsequential document after thousands of years. He was only publicly active for about three years. Documentation of any sort was difficult to produce back then. I doubt we could expect much to have been produced at the time.

There were many documents produced by others that mention Jesus. Although the Bible was compiled hundreds of years later as the canon of the Catholic Church, the documents included (and many that were excluded) already existed. Many of those were indeed written during his life.

Prove to me that Plato existed. Or Aristotle. Or Odysseus. Or Alexander the Great. There's as much or far more evidence that Jesus of Nazareth existed as any of these other "historical" figures. We have earlier, more reliable, and a greater number of manuscripts that attest to Christ's existence, ministry and - yes - even resurrection than exist for most other aspects of classical history. The books of the New Testament, in fact, were written by Christ's contemporaries whose "stretching of the truth" in any measure could have been quickly refuted, thus squelching any Messiah myths before they could get going. Even liberal scholars date some books to within the lifespan or at least a generation of Christ's contemporaries. Plus, there is the evidence of Christ's followers breaking more than a milennium of tradition to switch their day of worship from Saturday to Sunday. And then there are the martyrs. People will die for what they think is the truth. But few will die for what they know is a lie. Faith is necessary ... But the Christian's faith is grounded in objective fact

The greatest secular proof in Jesus' existence is what His followers did after His resurrection. They all (well, 10 out ot 12) died terrible deaths proclaiming His death and resurrection as being God. The Romans testified to this beliefs of Jesus' direct followers (the original Apostles) and these apostles were in a position to know with certainty of what they were proclaiming because they witnessed it themselves!! No other group can say that about their leader.

Is it my imagination? Or do we answer this one every day?

Ok, here it goes again....

Publius (or Gaius) Cornelius Tacitus, "the greatest historian" of ancient Rome (55-120 AD)
Titus Flavius Josephus, court historian for Emperor Vespasian (37-97 AD)
Gaius Suetonius Tranquillas, chief secretary of Emperor Hadrian (117-138 AD)
Pliny the Younger, Roman governor of Bithynia in Asia Minor around 112 AD
Lucian, a second century Greek satirist
Mara Bar-Serapion, of Syria, writing between 70 and 200 AD
Acts of Pontius Pilate, reports sent from Pilate to Tiberius, (referred to by Justin Martyr 150 AD)

This is the most complete list I could find. Here is the link so you can read what each of these sources wrote.
http://www.westarkchurchofchrist.org/library/extrabiblical.htm

It includes other sources too, but most of them would probably be considered "religious" sources.

BTW...the first 2 are considered contemporaneous sources. Look at the dates.

Dig deeper your looking in the wrong place and your desire to find the truth needs to be elevated a great deal more. Answer me this. When was the first indication that Hitler would prove to be a problem child? Find the answer to that and you stand a good chance of finding Christ in ancient history. God Bless.

The gospels are historical evidence. They are just NOT primary sources, they are secondary sources. Sadly the primary source for Jesus' life, called the "Q" source, is missing.

Other than that I believe he was mentioned by the historian Josephus, although not to a great degree, mostly the matter concerning the Trial before Pilote and the Sanherin.

I hope this helps you on your search for truth.

"There is not a single contemporary historical mention of Jesus, not by Romans or by Jews, not by believers or by unbelievers, not during his entire lifetime. This does not disprove his existence, but it certainly casts great doubt on the historicity of a man who was supposedly widely known to have made a great impact on the world. Someone should have noticed." ~ Dan Barker

"The Gospel story, with its figure of Jesus of Nazareth, cannot be found before the Gospels. In Christian writings earlier than Mark, including almost all of the New Testament epistles, as well as in many writings from the second century, the object of Christian faith is never spoken of as a human man who had recently lived, taught, performed miracles, suffered and died at the hands of human authorities, or rose from a tomb outside Jerusalem. There is no sign in the epistles of Mary or Joseph, Judas or John the Baptist, no birth story, teaching or appointment of apostles by Jesus, no mention of holy places or sites of Jesus’ career, not even the hill of Calvary or the empty tomb. This silence is so pervasive and so perplexing that attempted explanations for it have proven inadequate." ~ Earl Doherty, The Jesus Puzzle
