Have you read the account? God chose ISAAC as the son of the promise. Ishmael was sent packing, along with his mother, after Sarah got tired of his taunting Isaac. She asked Abraham to do this but he was reluctant. God, however, said "listen to your wife", so off went Hagar & Ishmael.

Good, because Ishmael was not the chosen one....Isaac was and is the "promised" son of Abraham and Sarah. And God did not choose Hagar's son. God's covenant is with Isaac
( Genesis 17:21 ). Ishmael came about "only" because Sarah was not patient with God, so she created a plan to help God fulfill His Word. God had foretold them of their promised seed ( Isaac ). But nooooo, she wanted a baby "now" so she went to Abraham and suggested him having relations with her maidservant, Hagar. Thus arrives Ishmael who the Ishmaelites come from, otherwise known as Muslims.

God didn't choose Ishmael to bear the seed of Abraham, it was Isaac, Abraham's son to Sarah. Hagar, Ishmael's mother is an Egyptian woman, a handmaid of Sarah. Sarah perceived that she could not bear a child that's why she gave Hagar to Abraham. Remember also that this was done before God's promise to Abraham. The promise of God was made later after Hagar had given birth to Ismael (See Gen. 16 and Gen. 17)

God's promised seed of Abraham is Isaac, from Sarah his wife. This is where Christ's lineage was originated.

According to Genesis 16, the Lord gave heed to Hagar's affliction, but He commanded that Hagar's son, Ishmael, "...will be a wild donkey of a man, his hand will be against everyone, and everyone's hand will be against him; and he will live to the east of all his brothers." [Gen. 16:12]. Nevertheless, in Gen. 21:13 God tells Abraham that He will make Ishmael's decendants into a great nation.

This is so true even today, for so many of Israel's foes in the Middle East live to the east of Israel.

However, God's covenant with Abraham was to be accomplished not through Ishmael, but Isaac, born of Sarah. This too was recorded in Genesis 21:10, where God commanded Abraham, "...Drive out this maid [Hagar] and her son [Ishmael], for the son of this maid shall not be an heir with my son Isaac."

God didn't choose Hagar's son. Hagar's son Ishmael was a product of Sarah and Abrahams distrust in God... Hagar and her son ended up banished, and Sarah's son Isaac was, as promised, 'chosen'. You can read the entire story of Abraham starting in Genesis chapter 12. Isaac comes into the story a bit further on in Genesis 21.

Issac was the son of the Promise, but Ishmael was a son and as such a prince. Ishmael's reward was not necessarily less than that of Issac. I mean at it's largest Israel was never very big.
Issac had the promise of God though and God had to keep the promise. I just wonder if he didn't know His plans for Ishmael in future history.

Perhaps I do not understand your question, but the way I read it I would say that God was doing two things with Hagar's child. First, God promised Abraham that his descendent's would number the stars. He kept his word with both children. Second, when Sarah and Abraham took matters into their own hands to produce an heir God allowed for it to happen, but it backfired and the Jews will pay for that mistake until judgment. Lastly, God did not choose Hagar's son, but he did provide for them because Abraham and Sarah acted foolishly.

Absolutely not Bruce. Jesus requires Obedience to his Commandments. The Commandments are a transcript of God's character. God is the Author of his Holy Law(Exodus 31:18). His Law is a Revelation of God's will to mankind. To alter the Law would be akin to Changing God. The Bible says "I am the Lord thy God, I change not." God Holy Law is immutable. Man does not have the power to alter God's words in any way. We are obligated by God to keep his Commandments. The Law of God is Holy, Just and Good(Romans 7:12). The Law of God is both Eternal and Universal and it has been established forever(Romans 3:31). Jesus said that he did not come to destroy the Law(Matthew 5:17-18). Jesus magnified the Law. He raised the High Moral Standard of the Law when he lived among men. Those who receive Christ into their Heart and keep his Commandments will live forever when Christ returns the Second time. Special Note: 1 John 2:4 1 John 5:3 Revelation 12:17 Revelation 14:12 Revelation 22:14

We Muslim believe all prophets and sacred leaders were chosen by god for some specific purpose. No one was superior in racial terms.

Sarah and Hagar (Hajira) both were obedient and had a purpose. No one can decide their superiority!

I am also surprised as to why God or Abraham would choose Isaac as "the First Born" for sacrifice! when Ishmael, 13 years elder, was already living with Abraham!

Abraham died 120 years. At the time of sacrifice he was talking with his son about the will of God so the son must understand the meaning of God's will for this sacrifice? Isaac was still 4-5 years of age?? How we accept that Isaac was sacrificed?

This is all misleading info. written in OT&NT based on Jewish racial superiority. God has corrected such wrong info.in The Holy Quran.

It is witten in Genesis that Hagar talked with God and his Angels many time but Sarah never talked?

Genesis (12 V 8-10) tell us that Abraham went to Egypt from Canaan..."for the famine was grievous in the land" but there is no reason as to why other members of tribe were left in the famine?? Jew would never tell you that Abraham was ordered to go to Egypt for Hagar release. She was a princess in captivity there! God selected her to be the mother of Arabs.
