Went to Louth for a few days (a lovely old market town with some top notch restaurants pubs and one of the most magical hotels that I have ever stayed at in the form of the Priory) which is quite close by and had a day looking round Cleethorpes, thought the town a bit sad really, all run down and shabby, went to supposedly the best restaurant for lunch and it was at best average and very expensive, we also went to what purported to be the best pub in town and also very shabby and average. The High Street shows this to be a very very poor town over run with Irish Travellers that are verbally abusive to people they perceive as having a spare bit of cash. However the beach was lovely and clean and it was a very hot day in October 1/2 Term and people were able to swim!

I live in Hull and I have only ever visited Grimsby twice in my life time. Once to go to Pleasure Island Cleethorpes for a day and once to see Hull City thrash Grimsby in the football.
Not one of the top holiday destinations I might add but it's ok for a day out I guess.

Don't need to, i live here. I really wouldn't bother, there's nothing to do whatsoever, and its always full of yorkies! Cleethorpes is getting better now, but still not nearly enough to do for a holiday and the weather has to be absolutely perfect to enjoy yourself 'cause everything except the cinema and bowling alley is outside.

used to holiday in cleethorpes as a child .. did have many a happy holiday there but wouldn't go there anymore sorry just not enough entertainment.
