Give her some time she Will not come into heat until about 12-13 months and then she will come into heat roughly 5-6 months after wards and if she still does not go into heat when she is about a year old then take her to the vet, but i doubt that. She is still a puppy yet give her about another 5 months to go into heat. I hope i helped.

Dogs go into season baised on the adult weight, as a generall rule.. when she is done growing she will come into season,, So smaller breeds closer to 6 months larger breeds later.. Labs generally close to their first year birthdate..
Also some lines come into season later,, her breeder would be able to tell you what the NORMAL pattern is in her pedigree.. Or at least should be able to..
As far as waiting, if you plan to breed her,, then in most cases if she is 2 before she comes into season, then that would be considered abnormal.. and could be a signal she has may have some issues,, and could effect her sutability as a breeding dog..
but there is no big rush.. she has to be over 2 before her hips, elbows thyroid, and such can be done.. also I believe Labs need the standard CERF (eye exam) along with DNA testing for PRA and such both very serious Eye conditions, cause blindness.. as a side note ideally if she was purchased as a breeding dog BOTH her parents should already have had these test done..

IF you do not have big plans on breeding, then get her Spayed do not wait.. now would be good,,, better if done BEFORE the first heat,, and less expensive too..
Good luck

Just give her time.. My boxer was 13 months old when she went into heat. Its like females when they get thier first menstrual cycle. Some have it at 8 some have them at 12 or whenever they may have them. I would say if she does not go into heat by 15 months then take her to a vet.

I don't know what you have read, but NOOOOO! Puppies should not be expected to be producing puppies, for starters. Also she needs to be scored, hips and elbows, at the very least way before you consider whether she's breeding material - and ONLY the best quality animals should ever be used in a breeding programme. She needs to be at least 2 years/ have had 3 seasons before being mated, by which time hopefully, you will know a bit more about breeding, what you have in your b itch and whether she is indeed worthy of having a litter. what you should be doing, if you just have a pet, is getting her spayed - for every season she's allowed to have, the increased risk, directly, she has of developing uterine, ovarian or mammary cancer later on - plus the ever-present risk to an entire b itch of developing a pyometra. ps No b itch should be bred on consecutive seasons.

are you intending to breed this dog??
just so you know, when the day comes when she is in heat, make sure she does not get away from you or is around any males...
young one year old dogs cannot physically handle the pregnancy as well.. it is better for them to be at least 2 yrs or older...
and breeding is a HUGE responsibilty.. just get her fixed now and avoid all the problems...
