We started dating Aug 3,4,5 at a rodeo, one year ago. This year, since my boyfriend is a bullrider, we returned to the rodeo so he could buck. We camped over the weekend with a bunch of friends. He did not buy me anything, he did not say anything, we did not have any kind of sex the whole weekend because of the lack of privacy, and when i mentioned that i was not having a good time(not a big fan of rodeos, which he is very aware of) he said if i wanted to leave that would be fine but he would stay another night (night #3, cuz the first two drunk caberet **** shows weren't enough) and he would see me the next day. Then he said he would really like me to stay. So i agreed to stay, only to spend yet another night being sad and just wanting some form of attention from him. He was always off with his friends, partying. He has never dated anyone before and had a very very sheltered upbringing(ex hutterite) so i understand the lack of relationship knowledge but i think i was gypped!

awww how sad.. i would never do that to a girl. i think that is unfair of him to do that; however, maybe he doesnt have that many chances to hang out and have fun with his friends.

First off, you aren't married, so the 'anniversary' thing wouldn't be a big deal to a guy. Hell, it wouldn't be a big deal for him if you WERE married! If you have issues with him leaving you alone to party with his friends, talk to him about it and agree on shared time and individual space; that's the adult thing to do.
As for the bull-riding and rodeo, I always root for the animals when I get stuck at those functions...it pisses off the cowboys; but how often do you see a horse tying a man's nuts back and climbing in his saddle to stay on for 8 seconds?!

Why do women always expect the guy to do all the remembering? Did u buy him anything? Did u initiate sex? Did u say anything? Why do u call it "my annivesary" and not "our annive..."
Furthermore if you go to a rodeo with a rodeo type of guy it is expected that he may get engrossed in the rodeo. You are to blame too. Besides, guys do not treasure dates like annivesaries as much as women. As long as he has loved you right in that year then be satisfied.

I`d rub it in his eyes .. boys always forget aniversarys.. so don`t worry ..I`d make him feel as bad as possible for forgeting.. and please.. lack of privacy .. be serious.. u can always find a little spot.. where you could be alone.. no matter where u are.. and don`t find reasons like "lack of relationship experience" when a gesture comes it comes from the heart .. not from experience..
Have u told him what u told us?.. mabi u should talk to him because comunication is the best way to go in a relationship.

Guys can be clueless about emotions. But your guy cannot make an excuse for what he did to you... His lack of relationship experience is NOT even made use an his excuse. I think it boils down to his main character... of what he really is. I think he is not a compassionate man. Get out while you still can... Or risk more pain to come.

talk to him. tell him you were disappointed. if he blows you off, end it. sheltered life or not, he had 1 whole year to learn what NOT to do in a relationship. a rodeo is NOT a good anniversary trip. if you didn't like rodeos, then how'd you meet him? why were you there?

Instead of telling us about how you feel, you should be telling him. He can't read your mind. Tell him that you do not appreciate the fact that not only did he forget your anniversary, but that he ignores you when he is around his friends. Tell him that any jerk could treat you that badly, and if it does not change, he will be looking for a new girlfriend. You deserve better.

NOT acceptable! You deserve better. If he could not give you a gift for your anniversary, he should at least make you feel special by paying much more attention to you!
You have to talk to him about his behavior. If he does not say sorry or acknowledge his mistake, better think about leaving him.

well i think if he would rather ride bulls than to ride you then i would definitly get rid of him. and if you know that he is not good at a relationship and you are not letting him know the to do's or not to do's then that is your fault and he deserves better.
