amazons are prone to being noisey ....they normally noisey first thing in the morning and as the sun goes down at nite .....but they will be noisy wen attention seeking ...what you could do is try coving her up when she is noisy ...leave for 15 mins then take the cover off...and keep repeating this all through the day ..also if u dont already ...leave the tv on wen u not in the room....not much more u can do for a noisey / screaming amazon lol..soz

My two cents is: I have an amazon that my brother gave me about a year and a half ago, because he just had a baby and between the baby and the bird, he was ready to choke the parrot. He gave her to me with this LONG list of DON'T. Don't blow in the face, etc. I recently went on vacation and asked him to babysit, he was amazed at the difference in her. She is currently sitting behind me on my chair with a cold. (keeps sneezing).
My advice is: I would keep my distance and just feed and water her, but keep near to her. Keep an perch outside of her cage for her to be near you. It took two Springtimes (which is their breeding season and when they are the nicest) to get her to the way she is now, but the key is lots of attention. Doesn't have to be ACTIVE attention, just being near her. She is mentally a 6 year old. Treat her like one. Talk to her, scold her, play with her, take her on walks. give her treats (like a non salted peanut with shell) Talk quietly to her. Handle her often.
I now can touch my parrot anywhere on her body, give her french kisses, do small tricks with her. I love the way she will cuddle into my cupped hand with her head. She is a brat when she knocks off my bluetooth off my ear and into my lap.
She was a terror when I got her, but is now the very tame and 'boring'.
It might take a year, but think of her as your baby. REALLY! You need to undo her bad habits and give her lots of attention. That's not called spoiling for a parrot, it's called giving them what they need. Best of luck.
Oh, and click your tongue at her. They do a sort of 'echo location" not really, but it work like it, she makes some noises to tell me she's alive, how are you? So I click my tongue to do the same back to her. We do the same thing everytime I come within hearing distance of her. It's what they do in the wild. If she's screaming, could be she wants to be acknowledged and you wants to know that YOU are still alive.

Why do you have an Amazon if you cant stand to hear it scream? You may not be giving her enuff attention. Plus like one of the others said, its all a part of nature.

hi i have a red lored amazon and mine screams most of the morning then at 5pm for an hour its just her way of calling its what they do in the wild and you cant stop it, if mine get to bad i say goodnight and cover her up for a bit. then she stops for a bit..
p.s getting any animal wont help as i have a rat, cat, and a rottie and she still screams.. and she gets loads of attention..

That's how birds communicate. Could you put her out on a perch near you with a bowl of veggies? That's what I do with my blue and gold
