You're in eighth grade. You don't love this kid, hun. I just graduated HS, and even though I've said 'I love you' before, I know now that it wasn't 'love.' You are too immature because you throw around a phrase (like all teens do, and it's stupid every time) that is overused and doesn't describe what you feel.
The way I judge love (until I know that I am actually in love, which probably will be some time from now) is that if you have to say 'I really am in love. Really, I am,' you aren't in love. You might be in 'like' with the kid, but when HS comes, there is no doubt in my mind that by spring of your freshman year you two won't be together.
Your parents just don't want to see you make a stupid decision because you're a horny teen (don't argue with me on that - all eigth graders are just horny teens, as well as many/most high schoolers). And in all honesty, what do you gain from having a b/f or g/f in middle school? It's middle freaking school! Some middle schoolers still have their Dora the Explorer backpacks.
You aren't in love. I'll leave it at that.

I'm only a few years older than you, and I have to agree with your parents on this one: 13-14 years old is too young to be giving your heart away for a relationship that will not last. It sounds harsh, but the reality is that high school relationships rarely last or go anywhere (especially in the younger grades like you're in), so it's best to just avoid them all together for a while and save yourself a lot of drama and heartache.

that other person's just mean. tell them that just because you love this guy, you're still taking things physically slow, i.e. not doing anything more than kissing. I think that's what your parents are concerned about. Tell your mom that you wish she would try to understand and acknowledge your feelings. You're kind of young, and most people your age don't fall in love, and don't truly understand the complexity of love, but it doesn't mean it isn't possible. Just realize that when people are young, things can happen to distance a couple, for example, you could move away, or he could become emo. If it doesn't work out in the long run, there'll be other guys. I am sure you have lots of time to experience love. Enjoy your youth and try to be happy!

"Kid", you say. How appropriate. You two are still kids. You don't know what real love is. For all you know, he could be leading you on so he can get into your pants. You are one of those people that throw around the word "love" like it's nothing at all. Grow up, "kid".

you are to immature to know what real love is, your only in the 8th grade and you have lots to learn yet for your young age... your parents have every right to not like you dating and when you get older, you will understand better... at most, you only have puppy love...

She realizes that lots of young people make mistakes at that age that they regret later. I'm sure that she doesn't want you to get used and have a scar that you carry to later in your life.
